Wow. Talk about unexpected.

Upgrade over Ryan. I wonder what this means for Butler beyond this season. What a duo though.

Thought this was fake, so I checked Twitter. Holy shiz.

Ryan is not coming back. Had to use money somewhere. Wonder what this means for Butler, Hightower.

Over $14m/year reportedly. Big gamble, pretty shocking tbh but IBWT

Wow, bold move. He's very talented, but hasn't always put it together.

Mike Giardi reports the Pats jumped on Gilmore this morning.

That indicates Ryan likely came to Pats to see if they would match an offer he got. Too expensive for what he brings to the table. So they went and found a CB worth paying maybe?

If we were gonna shell out that much, what is $2M more for AJ Bouye?

Also, that is #1 corner money .....

Are they replacing Ryan, or moving on from Butler in the future?

The knock on Gilmore is he's soft, BB and co. must think that's fixable. Certainly has the size. I do hope there's a reasonable out after 2/3 years of this deal.

Well if we were to sign a big name corner, this is the one. I dont trust Bouye.. too many corners are one year and bust, and even more flounder when switching teams/schemes. Bouye is going to compound those concerns.

This roster is about to be interesting.

Gotta get HT in the fold or someone else

Gilmore is a step up from Ryan but he'd be a step down from Butler, if these trade rumors are accurate. Confused

I think BB was willing to role the dice on the 1st round tender, if a team wants him that means the pats get a 1st I dont think teams will do that

I like Gilmore but not if it means Butler is gone now. Confused

Butler is way better, much rather have paid him instead.

Could it be possible Gilmore was brought in to be the #2? Can we afford to carry to CBs with those kind of salaries?

If we keep Butler, and have Rowe and Gilmore and sign Hightower, we should just trade down in the draft and get some depth on Dline.

The Broncos have done it for the last couple of years with Talib and Harris.

Gilmore's deal:
Five years, $65 million, with $40 million in bonuses/guarantees.

That's a LOT of guarantees. They must really like him.
