NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that the 49ers have agreed in principle on a two-year deal with free-agent quarterback Brian Hoyer, per a source informed of the discussions.

Barkley's the man, although sure makes Glennon (sp) move more likely.

Barkley's the man. Yeah and I'm an elephant. I'd rather they run the wildcat every play than putting Barkley back there again.

It'll be Glennon, Barkley/rookie, Barkley/rookie

Quote:
Brian Hoyer's two-year deal is worth $12 million, but includes $10 million guaranteed with an additional $6 million available in incentives.

Per CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Hoyer's incentives are reasonably attainable if he becomes "a productive starter." Still, the deal is backup caliber and worth less than last year's Chase Daniel contract with Philadelphia. Hoyer appears likely to make significantly less money than Mike Glennon, whom the Bears chose signing over Hoyer as a stopgap game manager. The 49ers could still easily use an early-round pick on a quarterback if they deem one worthy.

No wonder he jump at the chance.
