That means no Adams.. He was ranked number 11 out of 64 safeties that played last year that is by PFF. _________________ Who I wanted drafted vs Jags over the last 4 drafts

He's an upgrade over Cyp. That's all that matters. _________________

Apparently Barry Church played with a broken arm once...there's that "Coughlin toughness" we keep hearing about.
Like what I'm reading. Most Cowboys fans I read on social media are pretty sad to see him go. Was a leader on that defense (believe he was a captain on D). _________________

They kind of set the market for Cyp too he won't make over 6 mill. _________________ Who I wanted drafted vs Jags over the last 4 drafts

Ehh, don't be surprised man. He's young and because the Jaguars hid him most seem to think he had a good year. I bet he gets right around this if not more, especially if he waits til after Tony Jefferson gets 10M+. _________________

Church is an underrated SS, IMO. He's an old-school Box safety that rarely misses tackles (dude's got textbook form....even brought Marshawn down one-on-one), durable (will play through pain) and has high character. There's a reason he was a Captain of the defense. Sad to see him leave Dallas, but am happy that he's getting paid. You guys got a rock-steady player at a good price. |

I've seen a few things indicating that that's pretty close to what the market for Cyp is. In that 6ish range. Which would be hilarious if we got Church for Cyp money. _________________

Thanks for the insight.
I keep seeing Cowboys fans pretty much echoing this everywhere. _________________

I'm so glad I don't have to watch Cyp anymore. Pointing to the sky after every tackle. Lmao
Hopefully Church works out for us. Seems like a good addition to the back end. _________________

Who knows, but as you said, Cyp was way too big of a liability in coverage. Barry Church seems like an upgrade in that regard even though he's more of a thumper/box safety. In the very least we get better in coverage in some capacity. _________________

I like him as a player. Just wish we could get some guys in the secondary that can force turnovers. But he should be a sizable upgrade over what we've had, probably since Darius. _________________

Just look back at Church's 2014 stat line verses the Giants in both games, Coughlin has been watching him ball for the last few years he knows what he brings to the table. _________________ Who I wanted drafted vs Jags over the last 4 drafts

I'm with you here. Church seems to make some clutch plays when needed, but yeah he isn't going to be a guy causing turnovers everywhere.
This is the one reason although I'd be cool with Prince coming back, we really need to get a corner oppo Ramsey that can be a ballhawk/turnover machine. Bouye would be so ideal (although doesn't have a great tack record) or Gillmore (who isn't coming here...he hates Marrone after leaving BUF). _________________

Hopefully this means Solomon Thomas or Jonathan Allen at 4. Probably going to be Fournette though. _________________
