Source: Dolphins have reached agreement with tight end Anthony Fasano, who is coming back to Miami where he played 5 seasons. Solid pickup.

Losing Fasano seems pretty weird to me. Can't imagine the cost would have been too high.

Dang, that's unfortunate. Maybe Ryan Griffin from the Texans as a backfill.

Yeah figured we would want to keep him as a blocker.

Drafting one of the top TEs in the first round. IMO.

I think I would have even overpaid some for Fasano. It cannot be overstated what his blocking brings to the team. Helped out Conklin a lot too.

+1

Hate losing Fasano. Reliable pass catcher, as well

I'm not happy about losing him either, but Craig Stevens was considered the best blocking TE in the NFL by PFF in 2015 and we didn't miss a beat in the run game.

This will make it the second season in a row we've lost PFF's top graded run-blocking TE.

Trade #5.

O.J. Howard and Malik Hooker in the 1st.
Fabian Moreau in the 2nd.

Win.

Well in fairness we didn't miss a beat because Fasano was the 2nd best(and now the best) blocker in the NFL at the tight end position. Walker being a very good one as well.

Money hasn't been announced... but 5 years is a pretty significant commitment... even if in the end, it turns out being 3. Titans may have offered 3... but that guaranteed money probably had some to do with it (as well as him and his wife being from Florida).
