We should have public tryouts for the CB position.

The reason I say bring Jacorey Shepherd back is he is going to be cheap, and we didn't choose to let him go.

We drafted him in the fifth round three drafts ago and he showed a lot of potential as the next nickel. Then his rookie year tore his ACL or MCL, can't remember but it was a knee ligament. Then his sophomore season we put him on the practice squad and he was stolen from us.

I mean they may as well give him a shot. Hed be cheap and likely wont contribute but I remember liking his ball skills as a DB. Yes, he is CB and not a WR like jalf of thos forum thinks for whatever reason. Shepherd had a lot of hype before his injury and was considered a steal by Kiper but its pretty doubtful he ever seea the field. I actually like C.J. Smith a lot. I think we might see him play a decent amount given the uncertainty at the CB position.

Schefter reported that the Eagles are interested in bringing Maclin back. Cap space will probably prevent it from actually happening.

I just can't see it despite the fact he's probably better "right now" then 1/2 the WR who end up making the 53Man roster. If we didn't spend two high draft picks in the Draft a month ago and Agholor wasn't in the last year of his Rookie contract (cheap!!), it would make sense.

However you can't really afford to give up on any of the 3 really. AJ, Torrey and JM are set in stone. Hollins was drafted way to high not to be considered #4. Agholor at worse #5. So unless the plan would be to IR Gibson there's literally no room on this roster. Especially at his price tag. Even at a discount.

Maclin, Agholor, Gibson, DGB

Minimum 2 would have to go possibly 3 even depending on depth from other positions taking a spot on the 53. Won't happen even though I believe it would make the WR core better.

If we can get him for 5 mill just cut Smith

He's probably Buffalo bound anyway, they have cap room and Shady's going around the facility live-streaming himself with Maclin. Normally this wouldn't mean much but the Bills' official social media is sharing the video so... would be weird as hell if there wasn't something in the works.

Buffalo always made the most sense to me but with the crap weather , uncertainty at QB and current playoff drought pushing almost 2 decades, that has to be a concern of his moving past 1 season. Although I guess he could use that as motivation towards helping ending that drought.

If we did that, no one would ever sign with us again.

Yes they would. Will noone sign with us again because of Bradford? Signing him, then a big back up deal, then moving up for Wentz? Was that out of line as well? It's a business.

People always say that "if we make ___ move, nobody will ever sign with us again" or even that there's a lesser chance players will sign with us. That's malarky. All 32 teams make business decisions every year. Some of them are downright "unfair" to the player, but that's what you get in a league without guaranteed contracts.

Players aren't going to shun a job with a minimum salary of around 425,000 (with most making way more than that) because a team made a business decision regarding a player. The Eagles have had their fair share of questionable treatment of players (Dawkins, for example, or any move during the Chip Kelly era) and our team has consistently been an attractive destination through it all.

Guys making 425,000 won't shun anything, but guys making 4.25 mil would. Same thing goes with cutting Sproles if Pumphrey does well. If your organization signed a player in the offseason the cut said player because something better came along (draft or FA) in the same offseason it would be frowned upon by high profile FAs.
