Please pick the option that best describes the outcome for this position in 2017. If you pick OTHER, please state who will fill that position and why.

My opinion: With a healthy line, Jerrick McKinnon has the talent to be a middle of the road/above average RB in the NFL and quite frankly that MAY be all this team needs next year. Sam Bradford recorded the greatest completion percentage through an entire NFL season with one of the worst offensive lines hes played with. It kills me to think what we would have done to teams in the playoffs had our OL stayed healthy...

This team has officially shifted from heavily relying on the run game to having a choice, because we have a QB. Jerrick can be an every down back but there doesn't have to be any pressure. HOWEVER, id love to see AP finish his career in MN.

I think they bring in a lower tier veteran free agent and work in a rookie. McKinnon will mostly be a gadget player and could potentially see a reduced role (depending upon the success of the rookie RB).

Latavius Murray
Jerrick McKinnon
Rookie

No true starter, but Murray gets the bulk of the carries playing on a cheap deal.

I think the RB depth chart will be: FA / McKinnon / Rookie

I expect a heavy rotation though

Ideally I would like to have this...early round rookie (Mixon, Perine(ms?), Hunt)/McKinnon/cheap FA or late/UDFA rookie.

BUT since we can't count on a "top" RB in the draft we will need to address the RB in FA so for the sake of this I went with...FA (hopefully AP or stop gap)/McKinnon/rookie.

I think that McKinnon will at least start the season as the starter, but I suspect that he'll be splitting time heavily with a RB drafted in the 3rd round.

I wouldn't mind seeing a depth chart like this:
Rookie- Mixon- Best all around back in the draft
Jerrick McKinnon- Change of pace
FA- Mike Tolbert- Big bruiser and goal line back

Let's be real, AP didn't even start day one of his rookie year, and the dude was a beast from the get go. Also, Zimmer doesn't normally seem to start rookies. I expect McKinnon will start unless a FA is brought in who beats him in camp, and a rookie will be used rotationally until the team cannot reasonably keep them off the field.
