I'd love to have Revis on a cheap 1-2 year deal.

Same here my friend. Call me crazy, I'm offering him up to 8.5 million this year, with a team option for a second year.

Supposedly Before FA even started the Steelers said they wanted no
part of Revis...anyone else remember seeing that. I think it came from
PFT.

I'm all over this signing if I'm the Steelers. They have some money to spend
at a need position and they can still draft a young cornerback.

I knew Hightower wasn't' signing here.

Revis, I would sign and see if he rebound from a bad season. He might have lost a step or just lost interest playing for a losing team after being a champion.

If not Revis, what other CB's are left? Maybe if Revis doesn't sign with other teams, a hometown discount could be in the making

Claiborne. But if he wants one of these $10m/yr deals then I'd pass. I'd give maybe 4yr/30m. Plus I heard Baltimore wants him, so it'd be nice to steal one from them.

I don't understand why you wouldn't still go for him even if he wants $10 million a year. The ONLY way we're getting by the pats is if we upgrade our corners. We're going to be saving quiet a bit of money once Ben retires so lets go for it now.

I might give him 10, but it would be heavily incentive laden. Not a lot of guaranteed money. As far as the Pats go, 2 things to consider. 1, we've played them 3 times in the last 15 years in the playoffs. Why does everyone want to build the team primarily to beat them? 2, one CB isn't going to beat the Pats should we play them in the playoffs. A better defensive scheme is what's going to beat them. Look, I'm frustrated about this free agency period too. I'm all for spending some money to upgrade the team. But they gotta be careful not to wind up with a bad contract on a guy who comes in and bombs.

Corner is pretty thin in free agency but the issue with Revis is no matter what happens. He likely plays safety.

Hightower never was gonna sign anywhere but NE, we was just wasting time.

Justin Hunter isn't anything special but I don't mind the signing.

Not so sure about that. He's not going to come at a bargain basement price, but he may in fact be pretty angry about last season and still want to play. He has to know that the Steelers can't and won't pay his normal salary that he's accustomed to.

I would definitely be interested still. This team needs to add some veteran pieces on defense. The window is small, and young guys take too long to acclimate. I don't buy that Revis is washed up. That Jets team was a mess, and I've seen enough guys like him struggle or tail off for a year only to rebound. He's a smart enough CB to make do even if he's not as physically gifted as he once was.

We've also seen some older CB's like him transition to other spots with success. As an added bonus, he's a good guy for Burns to learn from.

We've all seen guys like this bounce around toward the end of their careers. I'm sure he knows his stock is falling and he'd like to get signed somewhere stable where he has a chance to take his game back up a notch and get his steady if not ridiculous paycheck.

He might be worth, he might not. I just don't have a lot of faith that he's someone we want to pay big $ for.

Hungry to get paid.

True but if that's the case he knows the Burgh is no place for him. I was surprised to see he was only 30. I don't know why I thought he was older. Seems like he's been around a lot longer.

I'm sure he's trying to generate as much interest as possible. It does seem like he's been around for awhile. Maybe it's like dog years, every year of his drama shenanigans feels like two.

I'd rather steer clear. Try to find the next Revis instead.

Who else is the team to beat?

I didn't say it would. We need multiple corners to beat NE.

If there is a time for a bad contract it's now. Over pay for someone to field the best team on the field. When else do you see being a SB contender after Ben retires?

Well, there goes 2 more corners off the board:

Brandon Carr to Ravens for 4 years
Morris Claiborne to the Jets

Revis on the cheap is looking like a good option.

I don't want any of the other trash that is out there and a corner from the draft is going to be burnt like Artie was this year. Even though he played a lot better than I expected, he still got torched a lot.

The only good thing out of this is they probably will draft a CB high with Cockrell in last year before FA and Gay slowing down.

Seems to be Revis or nothing.

We could sign Revis to a two year 16 Million contract. 8M 2017 6M paid by Jets and 2 M paid by us. 8M in 2018 as a team option.

Barwin to the Rams for $6.5 mill...would've been a great add on a reasonable deal like that.

This is getting ridiculous.

Maybe he wasn't interested in coming here. I bet he wanted to play for Wade.

Yes. Maybe he didn't want to stand up and play OLB. Maybe he prefers DE.
