So we all know the Steelers usually don't make a splash in FA . They usually take a dip in the bargain bin for some journeymen and maybe a mid level FA. Who are some realistic FA you would like the Steelers bring in?

A couple journeymen I would like are:
DE William Gholston
RB Rex Burkhead
OLB John Simons
CB Captain Munnerlyn

How about a starting OLB in John Simon? Or do we still have faith in Jones?

Burkhead would be a good compliment to our O

No, just a back up or rotational player in Simons. I don't have any faith in Jones.

I think they could get Gilmore at CB. They'd have to pay a touch more, but he'd be a really solid addition.

I think he would be a great addition. I would love to have two solid press CBs , as I know Burns was solid as a press CB in college.I think he will get over paid somewhere else though.

Burkhead would be nice. Possibly Boldin if we were to bring in a cheap fa wr? I honestly never even know. I think that goes for all. Look at last year. We went out and got the top fa te. Nobody expected that to happen

A scatback like Danny Woodhead or Darren Sproles would be nice.

Ben loves those little checkdowns from time to time. Would give a nice change of pace from Bell and I could see some success for someone like those two (whoever is available) in 3rd down and long situations as either a receiving back or someone who can take HB Draw's (when in say, a 3 WR set) and possibly have some success behind the line we have here.

Revis might be an option.

He will want to play for a contender and even though he isnt what he used to be, pairing him up with Burns could be nice for a year or two, and he could be invaluable to Burns growth.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and Schefter was on and they all thought that Revis might walk away and just retire instead of playing for a lower amount of money than he is used too.

It would be pretty sweet for him to come home and win a SB with his home town team!

Munnerlynn was a guy they looked at yrs ago. Wouldn't be a bad addition based upon price.

Peter King was on Mike and Mike this morning and said they Steelers are going to give a hard look at Revis to possibly sign him for a year or 2.

They've said that about every "over the hill" player the last 5 years.

Hahahahaha.

Jones' only chance is to go to Tenn. Otherwise he is flipping burgers this fall.

Honest question regarding Revis - could/would he play more exclusively in the slot in nickle defense?

I think that's out biggest weakness in the ability to be more flexible with coverage with a slot corner who doesnt get toasted in man opportunities.

Not saying that Cockrell cannot or shouldnt be looked at to be upgraded, but I dont believe he is the biggest weakness when we have 3 corners on the field.

I definitely wouldnt mind getting Revis and starting him in base defense and kicking inside in nickle, bringing Cockrell back outside. But I would have issue if the plan was to bring in Revis and keep Willie Gay in the slot or crossing their fingers in hopes Golson can stay healthy enough to compete for it. To me, the cost of the upgrade wouldnt be worth the overall changes when there would still be a glaring weakness present.

Might be out of our price range, but Brandon Marshall was released. Would be perfect next to Brown. More likely to go to the Ravens, though.
