I am so ready to see Peterson gone. He's done nothing but stunt the growth of this team for the past few years.

Reports this week say the Seahawks aren’t interested in pursuing Adrian Peterson as a free agent, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are averse to all veteran running backs with a history of knee injuries. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the there is mutual interest between the Seahawks and former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles. Charles was released by the Chiefs in late February.

Adrian Peterson will visit the Seahawks, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

When the Vikings announced the signing of running back Latavius Murray early on Thursday morning, the easy conclusion to draw was that Adrian Peterson wouldn’t be returning to the team on a new deal. It was also the correct conclusion. General Manager Rick Spielman confirmed as much on Thursday afternoon.

Spielman: “With us signing Murray, Adrian will move on elsewhere."

i know this is mentioned in another thread but when we put everything in to one thread, lots of stuff gets missed by guys who aren't here every hour.

Spielman: Adrian is probably going to go down as one of the greatest Minnesota Vikings in team history. He will always be a Viking, I know to our fans and to the people in this building, and he will always have a special place in this franchise. We are very fortunate that we were able to have predominantly most of Adrian Peterson’s career as a Minnesota Viking.”

Terrible end for one of a kind player but the franchise gave him all they could. As a fan I did too. I'm done with him. I wish him the best. I hope he survives his ego.

I'm curious to what his first public reaction will be to this.

I hope he can find a little success with a different team and end his career on a better note. I'm going to miss seeing him breaking tackles and running loose

Raiders radio announcer Greg Papa said on Thursday that the team had interest in acquiring a retired running back who didn’t play in the NFL last season. The first name that popped into most heads was likely Marshawn Lynch, who retired from the Seahawks after the 2015 season, and that feeling appears to be the correct one. Adam Schefter and Josina Anderson of ESPN report that the Raiders are “strongly considering” a move to acquire Lynch.

but...

Because Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch retired — and because the Seahawks placed him on the reserve/retired list — he remains under contract with Seattle. Before he could play for the Raiders, the Seahawks would have to release him or trade him.

If the Raiders don't sign him, I am not sure who will. Maybe the Bucs, or Packers. He might not sign till later in the summer after an injury.
