Now they can add Butler and the secondary will look serviceable.

And then what, cut Fuller and Callahan? At some point they will have too many corners. They're already there, it seems.

Hopefully in the preseason Fuller looks good and they can trade him. Buter's a safety btw.

Patterson would be a nice signing. At least he has an elite skill in his speed and he immediately makes our return game no a total embarrassment.

Is there a quota? Make guys compete. Nobody should be entitled to a starting position, whether it's Josh Bellemy or Kyle Long.

We really need to get in on some of the DL talent out there...we have zero depth right now and there are some guys who could really help us...amazed Hankins' market has been so cold...

Connor Barwin is out there too...he does a lot of the dirty work as an OLB but is very effective.

Well we all seem to forget that Lamarr Houston is still on the roster.

We all assumed they'd cut him, but now looks less likely.

Pernell McPhee
Leonard Floyd
Willie Young
Lamarr Houston
Sam Acho

Pretty crowded. I'd take him over Acho, but thats already a pretty deep group.

I would take Barwin over Houston every time...Houston is a one dimensional bull rusher...Barwin has the athletic ability to do a lot of the things we were having to ask Floyd to do last season...adding Barwin would free Floyd up more...

Also would like us to look at Zach Brown with Trevathan looking likely to start the season on PUP.

I don't disagree, but I would think we would have heard some rumblings about Houston being cut by now if they were considering it. I have a feeling Fangio and Fox like Houston more than we may have realized.

Source tells me Butler & his camp remain extremely frustrated by Pats position & Gilmore signing. Courting offers elsewhere. Wants new home

What would you guys think of trading for Malcom butler for say, pick 36? You'd have to pay him, but you get the proven CB you're hoping to land at 36 anyways. Seems like he's discontent in NE and we know how Bill handles that stuff

I'd do that no problem.

In a heartbeat. Make the deal conditional upon a long-term deal being agreed on and I'm happy as can be.

While we are at it, see if we can do a 4th this year and a 2nd in 2018 for Trumaine Johnson. Or Fuller or Cooper and a 3rd, whatever. IDC if it is expensive, they are at a vital position and can change the entire defense.
