Took the day off. Woke up and immediately turned on Draft Day.

Haven't been this excited for a draft in I think forever.

I took vacation time off work. My job is paying me to sit home for three days and immerse myself in draft coverage. Cool

Lions pick up Ebron's fifth year option

We now own Ebron for two more seasons.

This would make me feel more comfortable going into the season.

I would like a depth chart of:
1a.) Ameer Abdullah
1b.) Lagarrett Blount
3.) Theo Riddick (3rd down back)
4.) Zach Zenner

5.) Dwayne Washington (Practice Squad)

That's how I see it as well.

I wouldn't mind adding Blount. I know that he sometimes gets labeled as such, but I actually don't think that Zenner is much of a goal line or short yardage back. He's fine as a fourth RB that can kind of do a little bit of everything, but that's about it.

I'd love to add Blount. However, Pats just signed Gillislee for 3.2 per. Blount's coming off 1100 yards and 18 TDs.

I don't think I'd want to give Blount much more than 3.5 per over 2 years max. He's 30, coming off a contract year in which he saw heavy usage, and likely looking to get paid.

I'd love to grab him for short and cheap, for sure. I just kinda doubt it.

It seems as though the RB market is vanishing. There are very few spots he could go and get a chance at real work at this point. I would give him what it takes for this year (somewhere in the 3-4 range) and then reassess things next year. I don't think he is critical to our success at this point, but he would be extremely helpful.

I'd be really excited about a move like that. I just don't want to limit our ability to sign another effective DL or two, and I don't want to give him anything over 2 years unless it's crazy cheap.

Is there anyone else that would be a fit besides Blount? I feel like they're going to bring in someone for competition at least. Maybe Khiry Robinson or someone like that?

At RB? I'd look at Deangelo Williams, Justin Forsett, and I might even see how fat Karlos Williams is right now and give him a shot.

Blount is the obvious choice over all of them, however.
