Hi guys,

I'm going to be compiling a list of the top 20 players in the NFL who appear poised for superstardom and I'm soliciting opinions from every fanbase to nominate a player from their team.

Please discuss the possible players to nominate here. Make a poll if you must.

I'll also need one or two of you to provide quotes explaining why you think this player is a future star in the league, and possibly some videos or gifs of highlights, if available.

A couple of rules for inclusion, however:

1. The player must be on his rookie contract.
2. The player must not have been selected to any Pro Bowls or received any other league awards.

Thanks for your help!

Chris Jones is definitely the guy here for KC. I don't know how he finished, by I know around week 15ish PFF had him as 3rd in pressures per pass rush for interior linemen. Just behind Aaron Donald and Geno Atkins, and he obviously led rookies in that, then. He's probably the best interior pass rusher we've had, already, since the 90s. Even better than peak Poe or Bailey if we're purely talking applying pressure. His athleticism really flashes when he's on the field. Great acceleration and speed for his size. Has a knack already for deflecting passes as well. 6 PDs in 12 starts (including the post-season.) His sack numbers don't seem impressive at first glance, but when he started seeing playing time after the bye, he played against Oakland twice, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Tennessee, and Atlanta, so about half of his games with noticeable playing time featured either a quick release QB, a great OL, or both. And he still stood out, just didn't get home terribly often.

I don't think any one else would really compete with him for KC, if you're just going for one player. Most of our great younger guys have received the appropriate commendations, since we've been a note-worthy team the past few years. You could argue Tyreek Hill, if you wanted to stretch things (he looks like a future star on offense, and he made the pro-bowl/all-pro team as a punt returner), but that would probably run counter to your design. We have a few other guys who look like young, quality contributors (Rakeem Nunez-Roches, Ramik Wilson, Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff, or even Terrance Mitchell), but in each of those cases, they either aren't in a position to become what you would call a star, or they're too early in the developmental process to say with any kind of confidence that they'll get there.

One other thing. Jones can play anywhere on the DL.

You realize rookie contracts run at least 4-5 years? And a superstar is going to receive awards and go to Pro Bowls before that contract runs out?

You just lost a fat group of "superstar" NFL players.

Same difference. No difference. That's why they call 'em superstars. They make their their impact sooner than later.

Jamaal Charles, Derrick Johnson, and Tamba Hali all took 3 years or more to make their first pro-bowl. So no, they don't always. And even if they did, why are you trying to be argumentative about this? He's putting in effort to create content for the forum. Why try to put that down?

So who else gets their posts deleted? What was posted that was untrue? I only stated facts with regard to Charles, DJ and Hali.

So censorship is alive and well on FF, KC Chiefs edition. How sad. Crying or Very sad

Not really. The "project" idea is fine. Interesting really. But to make it work you can't eliminate players who make All Pro or make the Pro Bowl in their rookie contract years. Superstars are mostly made in their first 5 years and most rookies are under contract that long.

Simply eliminate the restriction is all i'm saying.
