Was bored last night and decided to throw together my first mock off-season using the FanSpeak simulator. All criticism is welcomed as long as it is constructive and stimulates conversation.

Cuts:

Dan Williams (Really wanted to restructure and keep him and Reggie Nelson since they both are good value and vets but it was time to make room for the young guys.)
Reggie Nelson
Taiwan Jones

Restructure:

Austin Howard $2,500,000

Resigned:

Stacy McGee DT $3,000,000
Perry Riley ILB $2,500,000
DJ Hayden CB $2,000,000
Brynden Trawick S $2,000,000
Daren Bates S $1,500,000
Nate Allen S $1,500,000
Seth Roberts WR $600,000
(Wanted to resign Holmes also but the simulator pushed his salary over $2 million.)

Signed:

Benie Logan DT $6,500,000
Ricky Wagner RT $6,000,000
Zach Brown ILB $4,500,000
Brian Hoyer QB $4,000,000
Barry Church S $4,000,000

Draft:

1st Dalvin Cook RB $1,894,278
Big time RB with some questions about who he has surrounded himself with. Big value at #24.

2nd JuJu Smith-Schuster WR $817,636
Big, physical, and a red zone threat. Everything we have been lacking.

3rd Dion Dawkins LT $654,069
Possible LTOF. If he needs to be kicked inside we have Gabes replacement if he costs to much to resign or move Big O to LT, Dawkins to LG and resign Gabe.

4th Chidobe Awuzie CB $610,640
Well rounded CB that can play in the slot or kick outside. An upgrade from Carrie and Hayden and adds to our depth. I like Hayden and Carrie as #4 and 5 CB.

5th Josh Jones S $527,974
Big, athletic, and can play both safety spots.

6th Devonte Fields OLB $499,771
Off field issues will cause him to slide. How far I do not know but if there in the 6th it is worth a shot.

7th (a) Jon Toth C $482,272
Just needed a back up center and selected the highest ranking one.

Extentions:

Derek Carr QB $13,709,210 6yr $132

Love love love the offensive additions with Cook and JuJu but I can't get behind a draft that's waits three rounds to pick a defensive player. Would rather see a DL or something along those lines in the early rounds.

I have the same criticisms, I like the Cook pick but I would want more defensive help in the draft.

It's a different way than most went with their mocks but I can actually see this happening and I would love the team if this was it.

Only things that I would question is if Irvin fits or wants to play as a ILB and Wagner's fit with our current line style wise. But I believe they can both do the job.

Solidifying the oline at RT and getting LSmith back plus the addition Cook would make our running game incredible plus the addition of JuJu to the passing game really open things for Cooper and Crab and adds the redzone target Carr really needs instead having to make perfect passes to Crab everytime.

Nice work!

I can't see Reggie using a first round pick on anyone with even a glimmer of character issues.

I could say nice job, since this is one, but to me it is really a dream mock, not a realistic job.

Really just for the conversation.

Reggie Nelson's roster bonus is guaranteed already, so there is no big saving there.

The Howard restructure is a good call, he might be willing to do so.

McGee will ask a bit more IMO overall as an avg.
Perry too, these could be first year cap numbers however...
Can't like the Hayden resign.
Nate Allen will ask more than that IMO, especially if Trawick get more.

Can't really see Logan, Wagner and Church leave their current teams. Even if they do, Wagner and Church will ask for lot more money IMO.
This FA group is not realistic. Good NT, best RT, best ILB, good S...
Why bring in Hoyer? Let Cook develope.

I don't like the 1st round RB pick, can't see RM picking up a troubled guy in the 1st.
We need a slot WR more then a big WR IMO.
Can't see Dawkins at LT in the NFL...could be Gabe's replacement eventually tho.
Like the CB and S pick ups.
Fields could worth a shot if he is there, however if Aldon gets reinstated we should be good with Mack, Irvin, Aldon, Calhoun and Cowser
Toth is only a C, I mean he struggled at OG during SB and we know how muck RM likes versatility.

Bruce Irvin is not an ILB

I think McGee is getting way overrated in here. He played well for half a season worth of games. If McGee is asking for more than 3M/Y (and even that is too high imo), we definitely should let him leave.

I think he will ask for ~4M/y, then there can begin the discussions between his reps and RM. We will see...

On what basis would he be in position to value himself so highly?

Absolutely not. There is .000001% chance he falls to 24. Completely unrealistic. He's one of the top 10 all around players in this draft and teams are valuing feature backs again in their offenses.

If he fell... it's 100% based on character and his posse he's rumored to role with

I think he comes back in a 1 year deal with low end starter money to reestablish his value going into the market next year. He played well but injuries prevented him from putting together a complete year. There's a reason why we all want him back and as we've seen in FA, teams are always willing to overpay for someone they think can help them.

He just went for $5+ mil in my GM mock draft (can't remember what team). So he is being noticed by other teams. I wanted to wait until his price tag went down to resign him and I never got a shot at him and those mocks favor the current team.
