49ers are giving John Lynch an almost unprecedented six-year deal to become their GM, per sources.

I'm not sure what credentials he has but sounds good

Jed York is even dumber than I imagined. Him and Paraag Marathe found their yes-man

Shocked This came completely out of nowhere.

With a 6 year deal, he has plenty of time to rebuild them.

I seem to recall another team hiring a guy with no personnel experience, who had up until that point been working as a tv analyst as their GM. I also recall it working out very poorly.

Lynch won't actually be making any calls. Jed hired him as an enforcer to light up any person who dares to question his authority in the middle of the office. Laughing

I'd rather have the homeless guy from the Browns.

Very, very weird turn of events. I wouldn't be surprised if they offered the job to Paton and he turned it down, then they didn't feel comfortable with McDonough so they panicked and went to option M or N or O or whatever the hell John Lynch was.

But I'm not sure if it really matters. Kyle Shanahan now runs this team. If anybody thinks that Lynch will have more personnel power than Shanahan, then I'd have to say that they are probably wrong.

I'm going to hold off on any harsh comments because I really really like John Lunch so who knows how this turns out.
