So go sign Revis and win one on the way out.
Anyone remember the OL we used to have ? That is the reason for most of this, but Ben is to blame a bit too due to his way of playing. If we had this OL from 07-2012, would he be saying this? |

Yeah, they made some terrible OL picks early on seemingly always waiting to the Mid-rounds to pick an OL leaving the likes of Essex, Colon, Hills, and Scott. The "best" of which being Urbik whom they cut. It's like they were trying to help him but made terrible, awful decisions.

There were MANY bad OL decisions and now they are paying for it. If the OL was good, I doubt he would be thinking of retiring . HIs family could also affect this, but that OL/FO is responsible for many of the scars and future pain he will have to deal with. For how many years was he possibly the most battered and injured starting QB that played a lot and this went on for years? It wasn't just one season or a part of a season either. |

The problems with the OL were as much or more to do with lack of development of the prospects. Max Starks is an example of a guy that I believe would have developed a lot better under Munchak. The only guys that were really un-salvageable were Sean Mahan and Jonathan Scott. _________________

It went on and on, and now the toll it has taken has the QB ready for retirement. That was the worst era for the OL that I can remember for us and they never really did much to address the issue for years. |

Give me McCourty. This Defense is possibly 1 CB short of being a top 10 Defense. A trio of Burns, McCourty and Sutton/Golson is about as good as it gets. Assuming Dupree and Watt can provide the pressure they would be on pace with the Pats (on paper anyways). |

I don't think we beat the pats until we have a different DC awn cover DB's. Zone -> fail |

Agree but with one caveat. They seem to have drafted Man Cover guys the last 2 drafts. Perhaps that signals a change in scheme. My guess it will be more of a hybrid scheme (i.e. Some Zone. Some Man). |

some wins some losses, and still a loss to the pats. |

Well that's a little extreme. It's not like we haven't had winning seasons almost every year with a Zone concept. It works fine against some teams. The Pats aren't one of them thus the assumed change to Man with the flexibility to play Zone if the game/situation allows for it. I'm a Man Cover guy too especially if the the roster has the players. It would appear they're getting close to that but I also know they are prolly gonna throw some Zone concepts in there from time to time. I'm ok with that if the situation calls for it. |

McCourty signed a 2 year $6mil deal with the Browns today. _________________

Hahahahaha.
Jones' only chance is to go to Tenn. Otherwise he is flipping burgers this fall. |

I guess that just leave Revis, less chance of signing the wrong player now |

No way I play $6+ Million for one year of Revis. It would be truly idiotic imo. |

Im not saying we should do it, but why would it be idiotic? Based on what Ive read, even after the rookie signings, we will have $15 mil just sitting there, collecting dust. Giving anyone a one year deal has no future ramifications beyond this year. $6m may be too much for Revis at this point in his career, but paying him $6m for one year wouldnt hurt us one bit, this year or in the future.
I highly doubt our front office will strongly consider him, but we desperately need secondary help. _________________
