Quick question, can we draft someone with out 11th then sign butler and give pats the option to match or take 32?

I believe the Deadline for RFAs to sign their tender is before the draft...
And if he doesn't sign it?

Until he signs it, you cannot offer a tender for him.

He is not able to be traded until he signs the tender. He will be ineligible to play IIRC

They can only sign offersheets until one week before the draft (21st April I believe). If he doesn't sign his tender after that deadline, he will not play next year and become a RFA next year again.

You got it all wrong, Manziel at CB, RGIII at safety where he already had experience. Laughing

Ok so we resigned Chase Daniels. Will likely end in a battle for QB2 between him and McCown...

Hi guys

We're voting on the Saints pick at 11 in the draft section. It would be great to have your thoughts and votes.

Thanks,

What are the odds we go all offense in the 1st round?

We know Payton is a sucker for marque players. What if he goes McCaffery at 11, and Mahomes with the next pick?

I don't like it. I think McCaffrey can be justified at 11 because he has a very rare skillset that translates perfectly to this offense, and would contribute right away as a rookie. I get the logic that Brees is on the backend of his career and it would be nice to groom a replacement. However I think you wait until Brees starts to show signs of regression. He's coming off another elite 5,000 yard passing season and who's to say he doesn't have 3-4 elite/great seasons in him. If he does that would mean Mahomes would be wasted on the bench almost his entire rookie contract and the 32nd pick would've been a wasted resource that could have been used to help find a good defensive player while still having a chance to make a super bowl run with Brees under center.

Odds all defense: 15%

Odds one and one: 70%

Odds all offense: 15%

IMO.

If we draft a QB round one, I'd hope we'd have the common sense to trade Brees and use those picks to improve the defend or add more talent for our young QB.

Like tyler735 said, Brees may very well have 3 or 4 years left, drafting a QB with the first would be a waste of his rookie contract. We'd have an Osweiller situation on our hands where our future QB needs his second contract and we haven't seen enough of him to know what worth.

Yeah, drafting a QB with the intention of sitting behind Brees for one, maybe two years is okay. Anything after that and no. They have to plan the right time to move on from Brees with a new drafted QB. Maybe this year, maybe next year, maybe we push it to the very last second, who knows.

I don't wanna trade Brees though, too emotionally attached. Crying or Very sad
