Anyone have a quick list of top paid linebackers so we know where he falls on the list?

Good for him getting paid, but it can't be easy going from the Patriots and annually competing for Super Bowls, to the Browns.

No guaranteed $ in years 3 and 4. Awesome deal for the Browns.

That Kuechly contract is such a steal.

It was also, what, a couple years earlier?

I don't get why/how folks don't understand just what the rookie scale and inflation did to FA contracts. The next guy is ALWAYS gonna get more money. That was the point.

I'm not oblivious to that. I'm not sure how it changes the fact Kuechly's contract is a steal - all saying that does is reinforce it. We're lucky to have gotten him down before the rise in cap.

Wish my Raiders traded for him and signed him to that contract. Good job Browns. Mack and Carr need to be signed ASAP as contracts will keep going up. Hope it's not a new record for both guys. LOL
Collins was one of the few Pats I liked.

It will be.

Best young QB in the game coming of an MVP caliber season, and arguably the best young defender coming off a likely DPOY season.

Nice move for the Browns. As a Lions fan it seems like the Browns and us share in our misery year after year. Hopefully we see more smart moves like this from them moving forward.

Your like that GM the dolphins had.. Asking people if their mothers were strippers with that sort of sig..

Back to the convo.. Browns were set to have 100 Million in cap space.. And honestly the price tag doesn't seem that heavy.. Figured it could have been worse around 4 years 65 Million.. This is a great deal for them..

Looking at what certain NBA players (like Chandler Parsons, Joakim Noah, Timofey Mozgov, etc) make, I find it hard to believe any NFL player is overpaid.

Even with an outlier like Brock Osweiler, the contracts aren't fully guaranteed.

That's not how it works - signing bonuses are prorated across all years, so for cap purposes it'd be $2.5M hit in Year 3 or $1.25M hit in Year 4 if they let him go. So minimal, but not nothing.

I get it. Wasn't referring to the signing bonus.
