Without regard to contract, these guys need to sit or be released and moved off the depth chart:
De'Anthony Thomas, Bryan Witzmann, Mike Person, Jah Reid, Nick Foles, Knile Davis.
Kendall Reyes, Dontari Poe (ok, contract counts here), Frank Zombo, Victor Ochi, Justin March-Lillard, Terrance Smith, DJ Alexander, Tamba Hali, DJ White, Phillip Gaines, Daniel Sorensen, Ron Parker.

That's 18 players. I've been able to draft 13 players consistently using the Fanspeak Draft Simulator. So that leaves room for UDFA's, FA's, etc.

Most of those guys are already sitting...the ones who arent like Parker is a good player on a good contract

So RB is getting moved up the needs list. Wonder if we go after a marlon Mack later or something

Alvin Kamara
Kareem Hunt
Marlon Mack
James Connor

I'm going hoping we get one of the four. Depending on how the board falls, I wouldn't hate Kamara in the 1st. Ideally we get him or someone else in the 2nd.

If we could somehow get Dalvin Cook...

He's got wheels, versatile player, one of those make something out of nothing types. Heard he's got character issues so he might drop.

A 1st. or 2nd. rd. RB pick will probably mean the Chiefs are looking to move away from Ware and/or West sooner than later. I'm not so sure Management is ready for that yet. I'd look for a 3rd. or 4th. rd. pick maybe with evaluation for moving up from 3rd. on the depth chart.

Another possibility is KC drafts Mixon in the 4th. with an eye on making him the featured RB in 2018, if Mixon can keep his nose clean.

5rd. mock draft; pre-Combine

1/27 H. Reddick, ILB
2/27 Jourdan Lewis, CB
3/27 JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR
3/40 Marlon Mack, RB
4/25 Dan Skipper, OT
5/26 Erik Magnuson, OG (listed as OT), better fit at OG.
5/36 Josh Tupou, NT

Aren't ware/west only on 3-year minor deals? I don't think they should factor too much if they find a guy they really like.

Well that didn't take long. Draft Tek posted their updated mock draft today and has the Chiefs taking Dalvin Cook with their 1st round. Here's the write-up:

Tuesday marked the crossroads of two Chiefs' icons. Jamaal Charles ended his career in red and gold. Eric Berry, meanwhile, signed on for the long haul. Both moves were correct. I'd rather see Jamaal leave KC owning the best yards-per-carry average in NFL history than witness his decline. On the other side of the road, I confess that I once thought of Berry as overrated. Then, he not only beat cancer; he iconically came back an IMPROVED player. Expect the Eagles and the Packers to be in hot pursuit of the future Hall of Fame RB. Expect Berry to continue delivering game-winning defensive performances.

Benefiting from the plethora of CBs taken in RD1, KC nabs Seminole RB Dalvin Cook. If he were to fall this far in the draft, the Chiefs would be silly not to snag him. Cook will return KC's running game to the status of greatness that it once held in the league. Cook's low center of gravity and big-play explosion closely resemble the running style and playmaking ability of JC. At Florida State, Cook accumulated 4,464 yards on 687 rushing attempts and 46 TDs. Cook led all RBs with 90 missed tackles while averaging 4.2 yards after contact per rush in 2016. He did a better job of maximizing yardage when his blocking wasn't there. Cook will need to improve upon his ball security as he committed thirteen fumbles in his three-year career. Check out these highlights, which clearly show why Cook should be the first RB taken in the draft. ~KCBudMan, Chiefs Analyst

I think Kamara will be better than Cook.

If Mixon can turn his life around, is he best RB in the draft?

What does everyone think of Christian Mccaffrey? As for Kamara seems he's already had alot of injuries.

Another RB not getting a lot of hype yet who could be fit for us and not have to be taken with a 1st round pick is the Toledo back Hunt

I love Hunt. I could see him going as early as the 2nd round.

Well now I read that Travic Kelce had surgery on a shoulder. Just great.
Now we need to draft a TE too (not excited with the other 3 on the depth chart).
Needs now are TE, RB, backup at OT, OG, NT, 2ILB's, CB.
Even with the extra comp. picks the Chiefs should probably trade down and get an extra 2+3 rd.. Teams go crazy if you dangle a 1st.rd. pick in front of them.
