So, why do you have the Saints cutting a player with a fully guaranteed 2017 base salary?

Wasn't sure about that, but Fleener does suck, though.

I'd rather pay Fleener that money to stay away from the team.

His chemistry with Brees might certainly improve, but the dude drops way too many balls at the worst times. If you can't catch passes from Brees you just can't catch. It's not like he's out there breaking hands with his incredible arm strength.

Sitting here watching the Falcons Seahawks playoff game... WOW!!! The Saints have a severe lack of team speed on defense!!! That MUST change.

Is Barnett a lock to be taken before us? If not, why Thomas over him? Sorry haven't followed the draft much this season.

Worm would probably have a more definitive answer, but from what I gather, Barnett is climbing the board. I'd be happy with Thomas or Barnett. One thing that I don't want is for us to reach for Tim Williams from Alabama. He's a good player, but I think his production was boosted by the help of a great defense. Another DE that I like a lot is Jordan Willis out of K State. Willis may not be good at 11, but as a day 2 pick, he'd be great.

Barnett gets the hype... Thomas is the better prospect with higher upside.
