the voting already took place when the league voted to move Rams to LA and keep the LA option open for the Chargers and the Raiders for one year

Keeping that option open gave leverage to the Chargers and the Raiders to get something done in their current cities. The owners also voted a $100 million gift to those two cities to build their own stadiums and keep those teams in place.

Spanos decided to spend the relocation cash, give up the $100 million gift and move his team to LA. That wasn't the hoped-for outcome

The other owners thought they were helping Spanos to stay, not paving the way for him to move to LA. They kinda double-crossed Spanos in picking the Rams over the Chargers/Raiders option (despite many telling Dean they were in his corner)... and he double- crossed them in picking LA over San Diego. Oops

This move is a long ways from being over , but the voting part was already completed months ago.
Now the owners can tell Mark Davis- we'll support your move to Vegas, but only if you talk some sense into Dean and keep him in SD

Billionaires aren't used to NOT getting what they want...
