Dominoes… LBs coach Matt Burke becomes #Dolphins DC. Joe Woods likely becomes #Broncos DC. Mike McCoy a strong candidate for DEN OC.

The Broncos apparently like Woods a lot and see him as the replacement for Wade.

From a thread in the Dolphins forum...

Adam Gase comes to @MiamiDolphins don't be surprised to see @Bengals DBs coach Vance Joseph to follow as defensive coordinator @NFLonFOX

You would be lucky to have him. Honestly I would want him as a HC, but he probably needs a couple seasons as DC first before he gets a HC job. He's thought of very highly in NFL circles as young rising coach.

yes yes yes! Kyle will be staying in atlanta now most likely. thank god

My thoughts aswell. I really hope this means Kyle stays for atleast another year. Especially if Wade Phillips ends up being let go by the Broncos I could see him eat up another HC vacancy.

Wade will never be a HC again. Age, health and overall success as a HC are just not in his favor. One of the best DC's in the game but a head coach he is not.

Not a big fan of the hiring for the Broncos, if what I'm hearing is correct on the coordinator front. Vance + Musgrave or McCoy (OC) + Phillips not staying on as DC.

Overall I think that's going backwards from a coaching perspective to what the Broncos had in Kubiak and Wade...

I was hoping Denver could get Lynn on as OC, but not looking likely

I sure as hope they do get Musgrave. That'll be hilarious! They wanted Downing apparently, but since we promoted him they'll have to settle for Musgrave. Btw I credit QB coaches John Defilippo (now the QB coach for the Eagles) and Todd Downing (now our OC) for Carr's progression much more than Musgrave.

I'm not derailing this thread from the Broncos hire, but I'll just say Joseph, Musgrave and the loss of Phillips would be a MAJOR downgrade for the Broncos.

Hopefully Musgrave if hired can do better with Lynch than he did with Ponder.

Maybe Ponder was just a lost cause, I mean he did great work with Carr. Rolling Eyes

How did Steeler fans feel about the hiring of Mike Tomlin at the time?

Tomlin, at the time of his hiring, was a relative unknown. He was a DB coach for a few years before being the Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator for a year, and then he was hired.

There was a lot of talk about Tomlin being able to relate to players, having great leadership skills, and being able to teach and communicate effectively.

Him and Vance Joseph share a lot of similarities in career path. Vance is taking over for a Superbowl winning HC that retired shortly after he won, just like Tomlin as well.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, I really hope we go a different direction. The options are great but I'd take McCoy (who I am neutral on) over this guy.

A lot of fans feel that way, I tend to be more neutral on things like this giving Elway the benefit of doubt but the Wade part is puzzling to say the least.

Conservative. Always tried to sit on a lead. Abandoned the run often and became one dimensional. Weirdly doesn't call Amari's number enough when he's a consistent play maker. Screens, screen, screens....

Carr made him look good. That said, Carr develop quickly and I'm sure in some aspect Musgrave had some play on that.

I really don't understand taking a complete chance on an unknown commodity when your a quarterback away from being a Super Bowl contender
