Interesting choice over Anthony Lynn. Mike McCoy might be the new OC.

great coordinator. will get bills' pass rush back to the basics and try to build a strong LB corps.

wonder if he will stick with rivera's philosophy of pounding the ball while gunning for chunk plays (though isn't that already buffalo's offense sorta?).

bills and panthers play each other next year so that'll be fun.

A little early but i hope this doesnt fall through. He has an awesome resume and McDermott plus McCoy would be a nice coaching combo. McCoaches!

McDermott has a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball to his disposal and they will fit his scheme a lot better than they fit Ryans

You guys just need to get rid of your GM now.

I think, unfortunately, he will do alright. I like him as a coordinator.

I dont mind Whaley... he really has found talent were no one expected to get talent from. Lorenzo Alexander, Tyrod Taylor, Jerry Hughes, Zach Brown just to name a few. He has drafted decently. As a person he seems to be all about himself but he has found talent and he isnt the worst GM out there. He ranks about mid pavk from me.

It has been reported that McDermott may get some control of the roster moves so we will see.

The hope will have to be that McDermott inherits the Riverboat side of Ron (positive is that he's a Jim Johnson protege, so there's hope for that), because McCoy is as conservative and castrated as it comes in terms of game-plans. In the years in which Whisenhunt's imprint on the Chargers' offense wasn't clear, the offensive playcalling was legitimate beyond predictable (I was seriously calling the plays and routes on Twitter based off the pre-snap formation at around an 80% success rate; and if I can do that, one would have to think a pro defender or DC was having a much higher success rate).

He sucked with the Eagles but I guess he turned it around in Carolina so idk how I would feel about this hire.

Just out of curiousity what makes you say that? Eagles ranked 12th in defense both years with McDermott as DC. That doesnt exactly "suck" so in your opinion what made him a bad DC for you?

Not to mention they turned into garbage when Castillo replaced him.

I'd be mighty careful in posting these things prematurely. I've seen situations like this turn on a dime more than once. Need to wait until it's actually confirmed official.

A good sign: #Panthers DC Sean McDermott will have a 2nd interview with the #Bills today, source said. Could wrap up soon if it goes well

#Bills & Sean McDermott meeting today at Pegulas' home in Boca Raton, Fla. All signs point to finalizing a 5-year deal to become HC.

By the end of the day it could be though.

Its always reassuring when fans of the team the coach is leaving is sad to lose him but happy for his opportunity as opposed to "thank god" and "good luck with that" type of comments Laughing
