#Packers WR Jordy Nelson suffered at least two fractured ribs in the win over #Giants, sources say. Will take an incredible effort to play.

Deserves its own thread, it's big news and people will want to know the update.

Hopefully we get him back in 27 days.

Even 27 days with broken ribs is very wishful thinking. Rib injuries can be the most painful of them all...

Have to imagine these are hairline cracks and some significant bruising or Mac would've said otherwise. He likes to use the word significant when a guy is going to miss multiple weeks. They usually don't play the injury game to try and stump other teams gameplanning. I doubt Jordy plays this week, but hopefully the NFCCG he does.

Players occasionally suit up with a fractured rib, not sure how often they do with multiple fractures. I'm no doctor but the sports medicine sources I've looked at indicate 3-6 weeks is a typical time table. A lot depends on the specifics of the fracture.

Not to put any unrealistic expectations out there, but James Jones played with two broken ribs back in 2014 at playoff time.

I just want him back for the Super Bowl. It would be a little bittersweet to win it without him.

NFC championship = possible
SB51 = probable

Recovery will be deceptively fast.

Jordy will gut it out and put up a gritty performance where his route running ability will be on full display.

Yeah he's out for the season unless he wants to risk the rest of his career.

IDK if I'd go that far.

Jordy played too many snaps in a row. That's why he got hurt.
