Seems like there are conflicting stories here.

Porter shouldn't have put himself in this situation. However, it appears this cop has been known to break the rules himself. There's reportedly four different instances where he did just that, one includes filing a false police report in an attempt to put someone behind bars.

Apparently this cop is very small, too. I heard he's like 5'6" and 170 pounds? How does he even take down Porter? Regardless, it seems like neither person in this situation was in the right.

It seems the Steelers have put Porter on leave. No word if that is paid leave or not. It's hard for the team to judge this situation, to be honest. Do you punish Porter, who could be innocent? Do you overlook it for now and let an assistant coach, who may be guilty? It sucks for them either way.

Regardless, it's hard to imagine no Porter on Sunday means the Steelers are in danger of losing. Either way, there's just no excuse for Porter to act like this. He shouldn't be putting himself in a situation like this at all. Even if innocent, you have to be smarter than to think you (as a "celebrity" in this city) should be going out and getting plastered just hours after you coached the Steelers to a big win. You just have to know better than to do this.

Really? Reaaaaaaaaally?

I never understood why some people get violent after drinking alcohol.

as for Porter, you'd like to see him take more responsibility for himself, especially given his opportunity to work for the NFL. I'm not saying he needs to be a role model, because I don't believe that, but he needs to take care of himself.

don't think it impacts the Steelers too much. they'll get by without him.

Literally less than 24 hours after the incident they put him on leave. Next time you might want to read an article or two so you don't embarrass yourself for everyone to see. Embarassed

Being put on paid leave isn't discipline, sorry.

Unless you have some source I haven't come across, I've yet to see anyone mention if it's paid or not.

Which means it's paid.

You and I both know if it were unpaid, they would specify that fact to make them look like they're taking things super seriously.

Agreed, why make it look lenient if it wasn't. And I am ok with it. The guy should get his day in court. If he is found guilty then the steelers should punish him severely, but until then.

This doesnt prove they arent taking it seriously. It merely means they are waiting to make sure they have all the CORRECT details before taking drastic measures.

On top of that, the narrative that the Steelers havent disciplined people within the organization for bad behavior is completely false.
