A lot of buzz around the AFCA that PJ Fleck has targeted Ohio State OC Ed Warinner for same role at Minnesota

I had the same thought that everyone else did when they read that..."Why in the world would he want to leave Ohio St?"

Maybe he's going to advance further/closer to a head coaching job by going to MN? I don't know how much responsibility he has at Ohio State, but he'd probably have more control in Minnesota?

Also, the T-Wolves won, good job them.

Why would he leave OSU for Minnesota?

He might be kind of getting the nudge from the staff.

He was actually decent when he was in charge of the OLine. When he took on more responsibilities and became co-offensive coordinator, he and Beck both struggled with their responsibilities. Urban brought Studrawa on staff last offseason to be the OL coach.

With Kevin Wilson coming on as OC and Day as QB coach, the Bucks still have to cut back one guy on the staff. Either Warriner or Studrawa is on the outs, and most have assumed it would be Warriner.

He'd be a good pickup for a team like Minnesota. He will bring some credibility and good experience.

It's no wonder, co-offensive coordinators never work. You pick one and go with it.

That makes sense. The only way a lateral move from Ohio State to Minnesota makes any sense is if he was getting pushed out and just hasn't been fired yet.

Landing a DC from the SEC and an OC from the B1G would be outstanding moves from a young coach coming from a lower conference like the MAC.

Off by just a little bit, and honestly it's even better news.

That's big.

Huge recruiter, and worked so well with the Ohio St. O-line.

Wonder what the plan is for OC?

Wasn't there talk of Fleck bringing Matt Simon with him as his OC?

Yes, but I think that is a big waiting game to see who Western Michigan hires as HC. If I heard right, he was in the running and the spot is still vacant.

Was OC ever brought up? Know his name was mentioned, but never heard as OC.

Could just bring him over as a WR coach I suppose.

I honestly wouldn't rule out Kirk Ciarrocca coming in for the job and following Fleck.
