Yep. This is an insane class, even without Hood and Chubb.

And Hood might be changing his mind, according to reports.

Imagine if Chubb/Freeman/Ballage have entered. Laughing

I do like the idea of more teams going back to a feature back approach. The good ones, like Bell, Johnson, Peterson, Lynch, McCoy, etc. are as fun to watch as any QB.

Oakland most likely will be looking for a new RB this OS when Murray hits FA. We have Richard and Washington on the roster currently. Both are smaller RBs withs very good receiving abilities. We will have to covet a bigger, workhorse RB. Especially for the goal line/short yardage. Who are some of the RBs that fit this mold? Most likely in the 2-4 rounds.

This class is pretty crazy. Both depth and star power. Does the depth tempt teams to wait for their running back? Do you take Fournette top 5, or Mixon in the 5th (just an example; don't kill me on the rounds/prospects). Seems like starters will be drafted in every round.

I was thinking the same thing. Just not enough space for all of them.

What can you guys tell me about Elijah McGuire? Obviously as you guys have mentioned this is a deep RB class and I am wondering where McGuire could end slotting in the group? I am wondering if he could be there at the back end of round 3 for the Chiefs. I like his all around skill set.

I saw/heard this morning that Mixon was given a 1st round grade and Mel Kiper had him ranked as high as his 5th best RB. However, he also didn't have him on his draft board or in his Top 10 RB.

I still think that he gets drafted, and I'm intrigued to see:

1. WHO drafts him (I wouldn't be surprised if it's New England. LB is a free agent and they have that "locker room culture")

2. Where he's drafted. I think he gets drafted (Tyreek Hill anyone?), but I bet it's Day 3.

"You know [Dalvin Cook] has a shoulder that's gonna be an issue?" That's what an NFC East scout sent me after I texted him my updated Top 10 rankings

- Matt Miller

Not surprised. My main concern with Cook is durability. We'll see. Could end up being nothing.

I'd be okay with New England. Laughing

In all seriousness, though, there seems to be a real double-standard for different prospects. Tyreek Hill is featured all over NFL.com lately. He's being hailed as the next big thing as a playmaker. Yet he punched and strangled his pregnant girlfriend. If there were a video available for public consumption, as in the case of Mixon, would people be so forgiving?

Or how about Dorial Green-Beckham? From the NFL.com draft profile:

Quote:
Suspended twice by Missouri and arrested twice for marijuana-related incidents. Kicked off team at Missouri in April 2014 after details of his alleged role in an alleged burglary were released by Columbia, Mo., police. He allegedly shoved a female student down some stairs during the alleged incident, but no charges were filed. Missed entire 2014 season.

He was still the 40th overall pick. I don't remember national outrage and people demanding that he never get a chance in the NFL (or maybe I just missed the hoopla).

Now, I'm in no way condoning or excusing what Mixon did. Are there mitigating factors, though? He was very young, out late, got into an argument, and exploded. Was it a one time thing, or a pattern of behavior? I guess that is what teams have to decide. On the field, he's a phenomenal talent. He reminds me of David Johnson. Similar size and running style, both good receivers, etc.

Mixon apologised with tears, said he'd like to help with organizations and shelters for women, and also said he hopes to become a teacher/role model for kids to help them avoid his mistakes. All well and good, if he's genuine. And really, he served 100 hours of community service and continues to go to counseling, so it seems as though he's dealt with the issue. Isn't this what Vick did, essentially? He paid his debts (prison sentence), and he got a second chance. That's how society should work, right? Rehabilitation for those who accept responsibility for their actions and pay the price? If the kid's reformed, give him a shot. He's only 20. He's got time a lot of time to grow.

Interesting discussion, though. I have no problem with a team saying that he's not worth the risk, and I can certainly respect that stand. It seems to me, however, plenty of other prospects have done similar (or worse), and have been given a relatively free pass. Video seems to change perspective more than simply knowing the facts of the case.
