He has looked decent in limited playing time as we have seen. So what is his trade value. The Pats are seeking a 1st and 4th for Garrapolo, he has put up better stats than AJ has. I would think the Bengals would take a 1st rounder. But realistically I think his worth is around a 2nd and 4th (which reportedly the Bengals turned down last year). What do you all think?

I doubt we get a first. Not sure we trade him for less, but if we get an offer of a 2 and 4 I think we take it and be happy

We might get a conditional first for the 2018 draft, but I doubt anyone does a first for this year's.

Trade McCarron to the Browns for a 2018 first, draft Sam Darnold first overall in 2018 Laughing

Isn't he a true freshman and eligible in 2019?

Marvin did an appearance last night and apparently claimed we did not receive an offer for AJ last year.

I would be thrilled with a 2nd and 4th round pick for him. I don't think anyone is going to give up more than that especially with only 1 year left on his contract IIRC...

He will actually be a RFA in 2018 because his rookie year he did not accrue a season because of his injury. That is huge in all honesty.

You're right and I just saw an article about that the other day. Still slipped my mind. Laughing

2nd and 4th is definitely on the table then. I agree with trying to put in a clause that would move that 2nd to a 1st round pick...

I'm listening to the BBP and they both claim if we get a 3rd we should take it and run. Said they doubt we get that high of an offer even.

Whose BBP? Also, it makes no sense to trade him for a 3rd tbh. We'll just end up needing to use a 3rd or close to a 3rd to replace him. It gains us nothing...

Sorry. The bengals beat podcast. It's the guys that follow the bengals for the Cincinnati enquirer

I'd agree that a trusted backup qb is worth more than a third. No guarantee he gets traded if that's all that is offered.

Redshirt freshman this year. I wouldn't be shocked if he pulled an Andrew Luck and stayed through his redshirt junior season though.

Agreed. I would keep him if the best we get is a 3rd rounder. Their thoughts were a 3rd to get someone who will play is better than sitting on it with no value. Also commented they could sign a vet backup who could do the same thing as McCarron if needed.
