If we were in the pick 10-20 range he would have to be in the conversation...dude is a tone setter.

I have him #5 to Tennessee. He's a top 5 prospect in this draft.

I think to go top 5 as an ILB you need to have special athletic traits...he doesn't have that.
Wait, what?

Thinking the same thing. We must be watching two completely different players if you don't think Foster has special athletic traits.

I feel pretty damn good knowing that the Bears are going to get one of Garrett, Allen, or Watson.

Add in Trubisky too*

I've seen a mock with Derek Barrett of Tennessee going top 3, anyone thing he has that level of talent at DE?

Some people have him higher than Garrett on big boards. Haven't watched too closely, but from what I've heard he's extremely talented as well.

He is my number two pass rusher. Garrett is just on another level through.

I wonder if people try to make Garrett/Barnett this drafts version of Clowney/Mack. I disagree if they do though.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think we may at least open the conversation about Derek B vs Jonathon A.

I just find it hard to be sold on a DT as a top 5 pick.

Barnett has a good motor and fairly advanced hand technique for a prospect, but he's not an elite athlete in terms of size or explosiveness. To me he seems more like a mid/late 1st rounder than a top 5 pick. Measurements will definitely be important for him.

He had a great game against Cam Robinson who should be a day 1 pick.

Guys like Brian Urlacher & Luke Kuechly have special athletic traits...Foster isn't in that class...no one said he isn't a good athlete just not a special one.

I'd wager Foster and Barnett are both more athletic than people think, and will both exceed combine expectations... but yeah that's also nitpicking "above average" and "elite level" which are two different things, and I'm not sure either is "elite level"

FWIW. I don't think Foster is a consideration for us, just because Trevethan/Freeman w/ Kwiatoski backup is a pretty solid setup (unless Trevethan's injury ends up not healing properly)..... Love his attitude, however, and he's going to make some team really happy.

As for Barnett, if he tests very close to Garrett athletically, I'd be sorely tempted to grab him @ #3. Robinson shut Garrett down, he couldn't shut Barnett down.

Barnett is a player.

He is more in the Khalil Mack mold, good athlete that just bullies you were strength and relentlessness.

Garrett is a unique athlete like Von Miller and Clowney.

Both will be really good.

I haven't studied Barnett at all... worthwhile to take at #3?

He woke be in the backend of my list.

At 3 you don't have to study too many players. Garrett, Watson, Trubisky in my world.

For those of you that are deeper in your draft evals than I am:

Can you give me your 3 ideal scenarios where you draft a QB in round 1, round 2, and round 3?

For example, Watson/Tankersley/Butt

(Jonathan) Allen/Mahomes/Butt

Hooker/Tankersley/Kaaya

etc

I'm starting to get that feeling that Cleveland will in fact go QB with the #1 overall pick. They need to give Hue his guy, I think the analytics guys learned a lesson this season with regards to that.

If SF hires an offensive minded coach I think they go QB #2 overall, that team needs a face in the worst way.

I'm starting to actually get the feeling that Garrett falling to #3 is a legit possibility.

1.(3)- Myles Garrett....OLB
2.(36)- TRADED to New England for QB Jimmy Garapollo
3.(67)- Marcus Williams....FS
4.(99)- Wayne Gallman....RB
4.(106)- Conner McDermott....OT
5.(131)- Ryan Glasgow....DT
7.(195)-

AJ Bouye....CB
Tony Jefferson....SS
Dre Kirkpatrick....CB
Ricky Wagner....RT
Chris Baker....DT
Dion Sims....TE

QB. Jimmy Garapollo
RB. Jordan Howard
WR. Alshon Jeffery
WR. Kevin White
WR. Cameron Meredith
TE. Zach Miller
LT. Charles Leno Jr.
LG. Josh Sitton
OC. Cody Whitehair
RG. Kyle Long
RT. Ricky Wagner

DE. Akiem Hicks
DT. Eddie Goldman
DE. Pernell McPhee
OLB. Myles Garrett
ILB. Danny Trevathan
ILB. Jerrell Freeman
OLB. Leonard Floyd
SS. Tony Jefferson
FS. Marcus Williams
CB. AJ Bouye
CB. Dre Kirkpatrick

Bingo!

That's sick pig, but I don't know if I see McPhee being moved to 5T, and I don't know if we can drop that much coin on CB in FA.
