This quote from Gruden:

Gruden with interesting comment on #Redskins drafts - We've had 2 first round picks. One didn't play and one's a guard - JP Finlay

Even he knows the partial lol of a guard at 5

One guy that I really think can make a jump and be a playmaker for us next year is Kendall Thompson. I was really impressed with how he played last preseason. He was good at highpointing the ball and making big time catches.

Oh my god when I heard that I was like that's a direct shot at McCloughan! Laughing

Guys, make sure you follow mike23md's request...

This is for information purposes. If you want a speculative thread about other team's FA's, open one and I'll sticky it.

Not saying you guys are doing it, just wanted to reiterate the request from the OP

Ya that is a funky one.

http://www.steelergridiron.com/information/freeagents_definitions.html

EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS FREE AGENT (ERFA): A player whose contract has expired and has three or fewer tenured years in the league. His original team must make a contract offer by the league imposed deadline or the player becomes an unrestricted free agent. No compensation is awarded for losing EFAs.

Its pretty similar to restricted free agents, we have the right to offer them a league set 1-year cheap deal or let them walk. The only difference from restricted free agents and ERFA is that other teams can't make any offers towards a ERFA. So essentially you sign them or they become free agents.

Oh yeah-- and Matt Ioaniddis falls in that category -- He's a second year drafted player .. ??

That's because we cut Ioaniddis and put him on the practice squad.

Earl Wolff signed as safety prospect.
Strong Safety ranked as 4th best prospect in 2013 draft
5-11 210 4.44 forty ( very fast)and number 1 of 21 testing safety at combine
NC St
Microfracture knee surgery a few years ago

Interesting this is also the 4th safety from that draft class for Refskins
Rambo and Thomas flamed out. Thomas was 16/21 at combine
Josh Evans recently signed on team he was 4/21

The most athletic safeties that year-
1. Earl Wolff-Redskins
2. Sharmoko Thomas- Steelers
3. T.J. McDonald-Rams
4. Josh Evans-Redskins
5. Eric Reid-SF 49ers

We have addressed safety with 2 picks in 13 and either bad scouting as Thomas tested poorly and Rambo was injured or poor coaching and they didn't develop

Now we have two of the highest testing safeties from that class so we have been and continue to address the safety position

Redskins NT Phil Taylor

Maybe the 3/4 not going away after all. Doesn't seem like a 4/3 DT

Come aboard Wade

Phil Taylor was good player before all those injuries. There is a reason he has been on the scrap heap. Hope it works out, but not expecting much if anything.
