We definitely need an immediate upgrade on our d-line. We need someone who could put pressure up the middle. It would be nice to get more pressure on the other side of ansah. Anybody have any ideas.

Not happening, but my fantasy is Kawann Short.

I like Johnathan Hankins as far as a proven FA. He could be had for Ngata's contract, and is a much better penetrator. You can also look to the draft with the likes of Caleb Brantley, Jarran Jones, Jaleel Johnson, Nazir Jones, and Montravious Adams. They are all kind of projected mid round picks. Also, Nick Fairley had a nice season. He is seems happy in N.O. (he is from the South) it would be tough to get him to come back, but he could also be had for Ngata's contract, in my opinion. We have about $10 million more than the Saints, and they have been know to make splashes in FA.

I'd like that too. I think him and robinson could wreak havoc in the middle and Hyder could keep more to the outside. I'd still want to look at bringing in another DE as I'm not sure Hyders success could continue but at the very least he'd be an excellent rotation guy. Taylor needs to not be a full-time starter. I think as a situation pass rusher he'd be decent, but as full-time starter? No.

Thanks for the info wasn't sure if he signed or not. The bottom line is we need help on both lines. I would like a better right tackle and left guard. And omo we need another de and DT to help with our pass rush. I would also like a more instinctive middle line backer.

I haven't followed him since he left.

Has he managed to stay away from the pork chops and develop some consistency?

Is Martavias Bryant a FA this year? If so, despite his year long suspension for weed, I would not mind giving him a modest contract that protects the Lions in the event he tokes it up again. If he isn't a FA, I wonder if the Steelers would be willing to trade him for a 5th round pick. The kid has skills like Calvin. And the Steelers have Brown and Eli Rogers has developed into something special.

Yup. He's not the same guy at all as he was in Detroit. Immaturity was his issue here. He's grown and turned into an actual professional and is much more consistent as well.

I'd give him a 3 or 4 year deal at 8-10M a year.

Good for him. He always had the talent when he was in shape and wanted to play he was effective.

Nick had 43 total tackles with 6.5 sacks! Stayed pretty healthy and was in great shape! His last year in Detroit he only played 8 games due to injury but was leading the league in QB hurries. Not sure what his hurry numbers are now but I would love this kind of production
