HOENIX — Arizona Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd was arrested early Monday morning on DUI charges after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel, police said.

The Scottsdale Police Department said Floyd was found unconscious at the wheel of his car near Scottsdale Road and Goldwater Boulevard at 2:48 a.m. Monday morning. The car was running.

Floyd was charged with two counts of DUI and one count of obstructing a roadway and failure to obey a police officer. He was released later Monday morning.

It is not Floyd’s first drunken-driving arrest. He was suspended indefinitely from Notre Dame’s football team in March 2011 after being arrested while driving at nearly twice the legal limit.

A pathetic foot note in an otherwise embarrassing year for Michael Floyd. An UFA this off-season, he has likely exhausted his tenure with the Arizona Cardinals.

At least I don't have to worry about us giving this guy a ton of money this off season.

Disappointing for sure. This guy was supposed to move from productive to star this year.

Thankfully for the Cards, they are not lacking in the WR dept and he won't be a huge loss.

I'm not sure why DUIs are still such a common occurrence. It's hard to find somewhere that doesn't have Uber, let alone a city with an NFL team.

Probably because people don't think it's a big deal and do it all the time without getting caught.

DUIs are a terrible thing and in a perfect world people would utilize Uber/Taxis to get home when they are unable to drive. However, alcohol lowers your ability to make smart decisions which include assessing your ability to drive after drinking.

He was costing himself money with the way he played on the field this season as well.

Floyd doing everything possible to tank his demand in the offseason...

This.

The big money contract disappeared along with his level of play from 2015. What this likely does now is cost him years. He's not gonna get a back door 3 year deal now, he's gonna have to take something along the lines of a low guaranteed-1 year deal and hope he gets himself together.

Sucks for him. I had hoped that his experience at Notre Dame would have changed him. This along with his play this year has cost him a ton of money and job security.

Scumbag for driving while under the influence. Deserves a suspension, so that should lower his value even further.

Another receiver making a strong move heading into his free agency.

At this point, I have to wonder why anyone is giving this guy a real deal. If I were him, I'd probably be looking at 1 year prove it deals to re-establish value for the following season. A lot of teams will be interested on a 1 year deal, but he's been awful on the field this year, inconsistent throughout his career, now this stupidity.
