So can a team sign him right now for a playoff run than? Just asking.. for a friend.

Edit: I assumed he was immediately cut. He is still on the Phins roster...

Really confused as to why you would leak this right before the playoffs start, unless it's coming from his camp and not the team's.

It's probably true but this is just a rumor at this point.

He's not be released now. The article says the Dolphins are planning to cut him in the offseason. Which pretty much everyone expected, anyway.

I am aware of that. It just doesn't make sense to announce it or leak it now, no matter how obvious. It would only fuel a malcontent to me. A distraction that you'd figure a team would want to avoid.

Also note - Mario Williams and Reggie Bush are flaming out of the league at the same time.

Obviously the Dolphins don't care. He's not even on the active roster and most likely won't suit up against the Steelers.

Somebody will pick him up for cheap next year. He might have 1 or 2 bull rushes left in the tank.

Pretty much the only bad FA move by Miami last offseason.

I think it likely that DE Andre Branch, also signed last offseason and the one who took over as starter over Williams, will be retained.

Yup, he's done.

It's too bad because, at 31, you'd think one of the premiere pass rushers in his prime would still have a few productive years left, evidently not.

Has he just regressed that much? Or is it a scheme fit?

A little bit of both. He was forced to drop back into coverage a lot last year with the Bills. Then he came into a system where he'd consistently be used as a pass rusher and still fell flat.

He done.

I think he will still be productive if he went back to Jim Schwartzs wide 9 scheme. Or a similar one.
