Cameron Wolfe‏ @CameronWolfe
Like I reported a week ago, Russell Okung's market will be fruitful. Multiple teams interested. May get close to his previous 12M/yr option.

I'm not paying him that.
Too rich for an overrated LT to me
$10M was on my high end even with an inflated market.

When talking about Patterson tho. We only put a $2.746M 2nd round tender on Thielen...

So?

Completely different situations. Thielen is a RFA, so there's no need to give him more than you have too at this point. Put the tender on him, then let someone else negotiate a contract. If it's anything close to what New England gave to Hogan, it's very easy to match the offer.

Patterson is an UFA, his deal might be more simply based on market value. But, if the offers that come out are in that $4M-$5M range, I would think that's a respectable number, and worth keeping him at.

It's funny, the Vikings could give Thielen and Patterson both contracts worth $5M per year, and the cap hit for our entire receiving corps would be less than what Pittsburgh is paying Brown per year.

I'd rather pay a lesser name around $6-8MM than pay Okung that much.

Scenario: The Chicago Bears sign Adam Thielen to a 4 year, $17M contract (similar terms to what Chris Hogan got from New England) offer sheet. What do you do?

Match the offer sheet?

or, take the 36th overall pick?

I'm signing him for that.

Agreed.

I think that he's proven himself enough that it doesn't make sense to have to replace him.

Hello draft pick. Thielen is a good story but at this point that is all he is. Put together another season like last season then we can talk contract.

Sign him, easily. He's a starting WR for 4 years at 4.25MM per year? Why wouldn't you do that? The odds of the 36th pick being a starter, during the window of Bradford being around and the D being very good are what? 25%? Sign him. Without thinking hard at all.

Easy choice to sign him. That's a cheap contract for a nearly 1000 yard receiver.

Give me the proven commodity, on a cheap deal, vs the mystery box.

With the legal tampering window opening at midnight tonight, who is the first name that will be attached to the Vikings?

I expect Wagner to have a deal in place tomorrow morning.

If the "college" line in his bio said Michigan State instead of Minnesota State, I doubt you would be saying this. People just can't get over the fact that a small college guy is outperforming guys on the roster from Power 5 schools.

Letting Thielen go only unnecessarily opens up another need on the roster.

No way I even think of letting Thielen go for a 2nd. I'd give him up to $8M per year.

I definitely think he can be a perennial 1000 yard receiver.

I have some weird itchy feeling Warford could be.
Not that I am a huge fan, I just have a feeling.
