Chiefs need to win out, OAK needs to lose next week, then we would get OAK at home.

Miami looks to be going to Pittsburgh.

If Chiefs loses either game we will get KC or MIA the next week, both unfavorable to us with their solid lines.

BUT the loss of Tannehill helps some....

I think out best path forward is a cheifs loss to the Chargers, and a Dolphins win over the Patriots, Oakland win over the Broncos

that puts us in a 4/5 match up with the Dolphins, and a win likely sends us to the 1 seeded Oakland Raiders...unless the Chiefs upset the Steelers

I think we will end up playing Oakland round 1. Broncos will be pissed and beat them. Chiefs wont lose to the Chargers since they wont rest guys due to the division still being on the line.

the order of teams i want to play

1. Dolphins
2. Raiders
3. Chiefs
4. Steelers
5. Patriots

i think if we get some decent play calling, and some things go our way, we have a chance to get to the AFC Championship game if we can avoid the Pats in round 2 and avoid the Chiefs in round 1.

the requires the Steelers to lose in round 1 or the Raiders to be the 1 seed

Gotta love being the lone "Texans fan" at a large family gathering. It was bad enough when my nephew began to rally everyone to vote on things on TV more entertaining than the Texans vs. Bengals game with "the fireplace channel" ultimately winning. My niece caught my phone blowing up with messages imploring me to "Buy your AFC South Champions gear" with rounds of hilarity ensuing with a contest of shirts less embarassing to wear with a Wham! era "Wake me up before you Go Go" shirt winning that one.

Meanwhile, my Cowboy fan brother in law has been trolling me ever since I built him a replica of the "Governors Trophy" after the Texans beat the Cowboys in Game #1 in 2002. This year he presented me with a replica of absurdly contrived "Civil conFLiCT" trophy concocted by UConn to hype their "rivalry" with Central Florida and added the 12-10 score in honor of another Texans epic victory over the Bengals. I put a blanket over it and left it on his desk in honor of the greatness of UCF caring so little about this stupid "rivalry" contrivance, that they left the trophy signifying their "accomplishment" on the end of the bench in the ultimate show of indifference.

Can't post personal pics, but here's the actual trophy that UCF was smart enough to refuse to even acknowledge was "a thing." At least there were no champagne baths this year, but until Texan fans stop holding an "AFC South Championship" with any regard we are going to remain a laughingstock franchise that gives itself participation trophies and celebrates "accomplishments" in seasons where we haven't beaten a single team with a winning record. Last year's "banner" is nothing but a reminder of a 30-0 national humiliation and 9-8 season that so satisfied ownership that Rick Smith was signed thru 2020 & given further authority to make crippling $72 million mistakes in free agency in addition to a decade of draft day 2-3 incompetence.

I agree with the sentiment of you post, but we beat KC and Detroit both of which have winning records. Doesn't change anything but you don't have to make us worse to prove your point.

We can also make ourselves seem even better by losing to the Titans giving them a winning record meaning we beat 3rd team with a winning record Laughing

Best case for us this weekend

Chargers beat Chiefs
Dolphins beat Patriots
Raiders beat Broncos

Path most likely goes

Dolphins, @ Raiders @Patriots

I would like for us to treat this game like the 3rd preseason game...

Starters play 1st half and then backups the rest of the way.

I would also hope OB1 rests the following:

RB Lamar Miller
DE Jadeveon Clowney
ILB Brian Cushing
OLB John Simon
CB Jonathan Joseph

Savage needs to play this entire game. You cant put Brock back on the field unless Savage is hurt

We still have Weeden to take some snaps... plus I would play Brock so we can try to convince another team to take on his contract (coupled with a 4th round pick from us). It would open up a TON of cap room for us to use.

Never... until it is done... You got new execs in Cleveland who are "trying to break the mold".... Osweiller would arguably be better than most of the QBs on their current roster (or at least healthier)

we are gonna get rolled by the chiefs. really need the Raiders in round 1 and then we have to figure the QB thing out in the off season.

BOB and the staff have to be the problem, there is no way every single QB we have played is this bad
