With the 7th pick, McShay has us getting Fournette. That would be a very big splash for us, but we still desperately need OL, which is something that DG has ignored throughout his tenure here.

Thoughts?

You know I'm for this.

My ideal offseason is:

Sign Alshon Jeffrey
Trade KB for La'el Collins and a 3ed
Draft Fournette
...

spend the rest of FA and the draft on DEs and Oline depth.

Re-sign "our guys"... Short... man, I dunno.

Praying that this comes true. We'd be right back in the thick of things.

When you think about it, OL is far and away our biggest area of need.

I hate seeing all the mocks that have us taking a CB and say "The departure of Josh Norman left a big hole at CB...". We have NEVER had top-tier talent at CB. Gamble was our best before Norman and Norman was 29 when he decided he wanted 70 million dollars.

On the OL, though... we have Oher (who was always a stop-gap and is now an injured, possibly retiring, stop-gap), Remmers (whom I HATE) and Kalil likely retiring in the next year or two.

That means we have Turner and Norewell.

that's it. 2 out of 5 starters on the OL.

I'd be all for drafting an OT in the 1st if there was the talent there at the top of the draft.

Cam Robinson is a good prospect but has an honest value of the mid/late 1st.

Like QB, Tackles are gonna go off the board due to need an not value...

We cannot miss in the 1st. Fournette is not a miss.

Adding Fournette and Alshon would be huge for this offense. Do I see it happening? Absolutely not. Possibly one, but not both.

We're only a few tweaks away from returning back atop of the NFC. I just hope DG opens his wallet a tad and makes the right moves this offseason before we miss our window.

It is definitely not impossible, though. We will have the cap room to sign a FA like Alshon and we will have the draft pick to pick a guy like Fournette.

What OT are available through free agency this offseason?

I would be all for drafting fournette if we were able to add a OT in free agency. I think the team knows Oher is probably going to retire this offseason with being out that long from a concussion. He definitely can't be relied on with that issue going into next season.

Matt Kalil would be my #1 target.

Hasn't Matt Kalil been awful for 3 years now?

I don't see how Matt Kalil would be an upgrade over Oher

Matt Kalil is bad. Only relevant because of his name.
I'd prefer Dalvin over Fournette for this offense.
And yes, Alshon has been someone I have wanted for awhile. We should have taken him over Amini Silatolu......

Love Dalvin but he won't be around when we pick again in the second.

Turn off Madden lololol.

This is the Panthers we're talking about. The most conservative team in NFL history.

We will finish 7-9/8-8 and play ourselves out of the top 5/10.

P.S. On a positive note, 6 of our 8 losses are 3 points or less. This shows we are right there. I still think this falls completely on coaching, Cam's poor play, our youthful secondary (who is "learning") and our terrible o-line.

Yeah, the only realistic option out of those three is drafting Fournette. If you look at our schedule, @WASH, vs. ATL and @TB. All of those teams will be fighting for a playoff spot and will be difficult games to win. It's probably realistic to think we will win 1, maybe 2 games. 6-10 is probably how it is going to end though
