What ever happened to J. R. Sweezy? Are the coaches deciding to say f*** it and letting him have the whole year to recover? If so I am cool with that, my only concern is can this guy play football still? Like we don't have another Carl Nicks or Arron Sears on our hands right?

I read a couple of weeks ago he is now healthy but wasn't in football shape. With him coming off IR I guess they felt he couldn't get up to speed before they had to activate him or leave him on IR.

We have a ton of interior guys. I still think we're better off with

Sweezy - Marpet - Pamphile

on the inside.

I'd prefer to bump Donovan Smith to RT and find a LT. That would leave one hole on the oline (granted, the biggest hole).

But that's just me, and I know there aren't many that agree.

Then we'd have Benenoch, Hawley, Wester, and Evan Smith to battle it out for the interior reserves and Dotson as our swing tackle.

I think that would be our best set.

I think his recovery took much longer than expected. Plus, it's a back injury, so might as well shut him down and let him fully rehab it before making him destroy himself in the trenches. I don't know if he could have made it back at all this year anyway given his injury and the surgery he had.

It's a back injury though, so it could be a huge issue for him if it doesn't heal properly and could affect his ability to play.

Let's hope it's not another Arron Sears type situation. That's a sad sad story.

I wasn't able to watch the second half.

Anyone wanna give me a summary?

Looking at the box score, Jameis cannot turn the ball over 4 times.

Looking at the box score, Jameis cannot turn the ball over 4 times.

For his fumble, it looked like he got hit as he threw. One INT was a hail Mary before the half. He got his elbow hit on another one. The last one was a desperation fourth and 12 toss up.

Summary: our offense came out hot. Jameis was on fire. The long TD was a lucky bounce to Hump. But Jameis was eluding defenders and throwing strikes everywhere. Then we started trying to the run the ball a little bit, to no avail. Then Dallas started blitzing, getting after Jameis. Then Cherilus happened, resulting in like three straight drives failing to get going at all. We had two chances at the end to take the lead but Cherilus was getting beaten like a drum. And he whiffed on a block on a screen that would have gone for at least 30 yards.

Good because we need him. Pamphile is a solid player but he doesn't do it in the run game. Sound pass blocker but he doesn't drive his man off the ball to create holes like Mankins did last year. Sweezy back is going to help the run game out immensely.

Smith - Sweezy - ???? - Marpet - ???????

I've been saying since earlier in the season we need to upgrade the OL. I think Pamphile should compete at RT next year if we don't bring anybody in and let Dotson stay. Hawley should be re-signed but as a back-up. If we sign a RT in FA, then Pamphile will compete at C.

Waking up early this morning and as soon as I opened my eyes, looking at the ceiling I said out loud "I cannot believe how bad Gosder Cherilus is". My gf rolled over and said "wtf are you talking about", and all I said was "nvm...it's too sad to talk about". Laughing

I STILL cannot get over how badly this guy got beat last night. Like I am cool with the loss the morning after. Dallas is a good team, it's not like we dropped another one to a team like the Rams or something. But MAN how does a NFL pro get beat that badly? Dude looked like a backup D-2 tackle playing in the NFL for the first time ever.

I just never seen an O-lineman get destroyed that bad. At one point he was getting beat so bad that he tried RUN BLOCKING on a pass and that still failed hard. He tried attacking his guy first to try to get some kind of protection going and failed hard.

When he missed that block of a SAFTEY on the screen which would have been a huge game had me livid. Gosder needs to be gone yesterday. People forget he was cut by Indianapolis! The team that has had o line issues for the last 5 years felt he wasn't good enough for their team..... Come the hell on

Free agency looks trash for OL this offseason.

Draft picks id look at in the 20 if they declare:

Mike Mcglinchey - Notre Dame
Ryan Ramczyk - Wisconsin

Dan Feeney - Indiana (he's a G but if Licht wants to move Marpet to C)

Feeney is a beast. I honestly wouldn't mind drafting him and then either moving him to C or Marpet. Its going to be rather difficult to pick a tackle up in the 20's - we may have to move up to get one of those studs. But yeah totally agree. We do not want to make the same mistake the Panthers and Colts did by not bringing in any OL.

Good game guys, y'all have some impressive talent up and down that roster. Should be a major force to reckon with in the division for years to come.

Just wanted to drop in and say great game guys!

It is unreal how fast your front seven is. Spence, destroying Smith that quickly is something I don't recall ever really seeing. Super impressive.

I told everyone that the Bucs are one of the top 2 teams I fear in the playoffs, and our last game showcased why. Take away all those turnovers - some of which were fluky - and I don't think Dallas wins that game.

See you folks in January.

(as an aside - you guys should consider signing Leary in the off-season and move Marpet to C)
