Woof. Anzalone in the 2nd? With that injury history? A Harris/Anzalone first 2 rounds would really be a let down.

We need a bunch of QBs/RBs/WRs to go off the board before we pick in the 2nd.

We should all be used to draft letdowns and disappointments by now.

The third round will follow this evening and as the picture attached to this article suggests, the Dolphins have a bit of a surprise planned.

They really, really, really like an obscure wide receiver from Eastern Washington named Cooper Kupp.

I was, until the Tunsil pick last year gave me hope that this FO may be able to do things right. I'm back to square 1 if the 2nd rounder is a turd tonight.

GTFO with that. Kupp? I do think he can be a productive NFL player, but that pick would effectively close the book on Carroo already.

The Dolphins have spent allot of time with Anzalone. In fact, I had to go look him up earlier in the offseason because I wasn't that familiar with him. Most draft analysts have a 3rd grade on him. The problem is that he won't last to the bottom of the 3rd, some team is going to take a flyer on him. Supposedly he is very intelligent, and blew away the interviews. He also had great numbers at the combine, running a 4.63 40, 16 reps on the bench, and a 30 inch vert. He has the frame to get bigger. For anyone with a little time, there is a good video on the NFL website that breaks down Anzalone.

Oh, I like Anzalone on the field plenty. He's just never on it. And now he's going to be going against guys that are bigger, stronger, and faster than what he's faced before? That's not a good recipe.

Glad the Rams drafted Kupp before we could. He will be a solid player most likely but we just have much bigger needs in round 3.

So it looks like OG will have to wait until the 5th round. I don't know of any OG's that far back that will be sure fire starters next season. It looks like Steen and Bushrod will be the starters.

Maybe Asiata and/or Isadora could fall, who knows...I'd like K Zane Gonzalez in the 5th, but I'm not hopeful he'll be there.

CJ Beathard in the 3rd was interesting.

Did we trade up 2 spots for Asiata?

Yep. Not clear what it cost us though.

Looks like we did a pick swap with Philly, not sure of the details but we might have surrendered a 5th.

I like this pick. Asiata has a mean streak. He needs some technique coaching but he isn't afraid to target defenders and go after them.

Well worth it genuine chance to be a starter.

I would take the chance on Brantley next. I wouldn't mind seeing Qualls or Jones.

Hodges or Fields is probably my top value other than Brantley.

We've addressed four key needs with our first four picks, in each case with players with a good chance to start in due course.
