Quote:
Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul is in Philly today to see noted surgeon William Meyers regarding his groin injury, sources say.

Quote:
Pierre-Paul's visit to Meyers doesn't necessarily mean surgery. Meyers is known for his work with what many call sports hernias.

Can only hope he doesn't need surgery

Philly is the place to go on the east coast if you need a specialized doctor. Some of the best in the world there.

But the words "sports hernia" are not encouraging. I had 2 inguinal hernias back in 2011 right at the start of wrestling season. Was told if the pain was manageable, I could still finish the season then get surgery after. However, the pain was not manageable. I couldn't sit up out of bed or a chair. I had surgery and was out of commission for a while. About 3 months before I could do anything. Now sports hernias are not as bad, but they sidelined Marshawn Lynch for a long time last year and he is a tough dude. IMO, no way he plays this week and he's potentially gone until the postseason.

We lost Mo to a sports hernia this year and Terrence Newman missed 6 weeks in 2008 from one. Wonder if this will keep him out till the Playoffs or if it's not that serious

There is gonna be a whole lot of blitzing from us on Sunday. We better not bother trying to just rush 4 otherwise we're doomed.
