If you think it's just one game your wrong... this has been swirling around for about 8 weeks. It's only one game because Cooks finally went public with his frustrations after going in house early on but his camp has been sending out these signals after any game he isn't the primary target.

The Rams game was just he tipping point for him. Also that's not the point... Cooks can have 12 catches today and 100+ yards and multiple scores but if he's not targeted the next week you can bet he'll complain.
Just another reason to fire Payton. Perhaps I resurrect that thread.

Get rid of Payton before he gets rid of Cooks for something stupid, like a 4th rounder and place kicker.

I've got no problem getting rid of Cooks if he's gonna be an [inappropriate/removed].

The defense is what it is and they're playing as good as can be asked of considering who there playing... the offense simply hasn't shown up again. This Saints offense is fools gold, it pads stats and scores points against weak teams but gets smacked around when asked to go up against physical sound defenses.

Extremely disappointing showing from offense with season on the line... funny how the defense always gets blamed when they are terrible but not much mentioned publicly when the offense craps the bed. The offense is where this teams money and assets are invested, the offense is what this team is built on and what it's head coach expertise is in and it's time Saints fans begin to demand better showings from them when facing the better NFL defenses.

The Lions have a sound defense... not elite but top 10 IMO and they have dictated this game from the start.

And we've abandoned the running game, when it is working, again...... and we'll lose because of it. Our defense is tired and then Payton orders Brees to chuck the ball, which isn't working, and puts the D right back on the field.

What an idiot!

Not true, we've played good against some of the best teams in the league this year. Everyone just came out flat today.

Funny how we always seem to come out "flat" against the more sound defenses...

We just disagree here.

Giants
Panthers
Chiefs
Broncos
Seahawks
Lions

All the better defenses we have played... only one we scored more than 23 points on we're the Panthers early when they were struggling. They lucked into a win against Seattle and limped through embrassing losses in the others while the special teams took the heat but make no mistake the offense was non existent in those games as far as the scoreboard goes.

Note: defense played well enough to win each of those games.

You're not gonna throw for 450 yards and 4 TDs against the top defenses. We played better against all of those teams than we have today, and all of those defenses are better than the Lions. We've actually played one of the toughest schedules in the league and put up more yardage and points than Atlanta against the seahawks and Broncos.

While I agree, what I'm saying is if we're so willing to call out the special teams and defense when they cost us games... why make excuses for the offense like saying they just flat?

Call it what it is... the season is basically on the line and Brees and he offense craps the bed!!! Cooks creates a sense of unease throughout the week after a big win and Payton treats the Rams game like it's the Super Bowl.

I make ZERO excuses for them... this offense is what this team is built on and they lost this game and should be held accountable for it just like we do with all other aspects of this team.

Yep

Well at least Cooks can walk out the dome today feeling good about himself since he got himself 8 touches today.

Glad he got to "eat"

I'm not making excuses, this is the worst game Brees has played since 2014.

PREEEEAAAAAACCCCH. Especially about Payton treating last week like the Super Bowl.

I hope his ego is satiated. Its not like he has to worry about losing his job, so why not put personal vendettas over the season as a whole?
