Here we go. Can we win four in a row?

We can but this will be another tough game. The Chargers have a much better OL than the Seahawks do but their OL is beatable. Need McCoy/Ayers/Spence to show up. I don't expect dominance like last week but we're going to need to see some pressure and a few sacks. Rivers will most likely crave our secondary up. Even with no name receivers.

We'll need to protect Winston and give him time. Flowers/Hayward are pretty good CB duo and they create turnovers. Dotson needs to show up again as he faces Bosa who has been on a tear. I think this will be a high scoring game and whoever wins by 4-7 pts.

This game is going to brake my heart the fact that I usually want Chargers to win.

Now I have to root against them

Oh well. Their running game is very good with Melvin Gordon. Passing game is a bigger threat. They really found a diamond in the rough with Tyrell Williams . He has 800 yards receiving and started the season off on the bench. That's almost as much as all our WR's put together not named Mike Evans. Gates is old but is still a threat.

Good news is the schedule does not have us going to places where we have to play in a snowstorm, and instead this year our away games are in places like Southern California. Weather has been mid to high 60's all week.

I'll be interested to see how SD covers Evans. Do they roll a safety over the top like the Bears? I would expect them to not blitz too much and see if they're 4 man rush will be enough. Huff started practicing again. I would expect him to dress over Martino. Help out kickoff return and get a bubble screen or two with his running ability. They need more out of the running game especially if the safeties play back.

If the degmfense can keep the plays in front of them, I like their chances. Apparently, Williams is questionable with a shoulder.

More than likely put Casey Hayward on him and help over the top. Interesting note Huff started practicing this week. He gives us some speed on offense and KR ability. A guy like him we maybe even to sneak him wide open on a deep route or something.

I really like the dline in the nickel package. McCoy and Ayers at DT and Spence and Russell at DE. I especially like Ayers and Spence on the same side. With McCoy getting double teamed most of the time, Ayers and Spence are being single blocked. I really want to see what Russell does this game. He played over 50 snaps last game. Curious to see if he can bring the production on a week to week basis.

That kid literally came out of nowhere. Good find by Licht, I was tired of seeing Lambert out there. I see the Cowboys like to use their 5th and 6th rounders on Purdue guys(Anthony Brown CB has been a good find for them) ... We may have to follow suit. Laughing

I'm pretty nervous about this game. Rivers and Gordon will create some issues for us. They can rack up points in a hurry so it's critical that our offense does not come out flat.

Bosa is going to be a problem as well. Stocker has to hold up much better on the edge than he did last week. Same with Dotson.

IMO this is a bigger test than the Seahawks. No one expected us to win last weekend so as a team you can use that underdog mentality as fuel. When you are the hunter, and are suddenly in the playoff picture, simply showing up won't be good enough.

I'm not as concerned about coming out flat in this game. The leadership group certainly will be reminded of the Saints game at home last year. We as fans didn't think they were playoff worthy because of the defense, but I'm very confident the players thought otherwise.

This will be a tough game and there are real concerns with pass protection you have outlined. For me, it comes down to the dline controlling the line of scrimmage. Rivers won't be moving around, they have to get near him and harass him. Of course, the offense has to limit turnovers.

This is just another hurdle in getting back to being a perennial playoff contender. I'm hoping the players are embracing the opportunity.

The narrative of the team directly follows the perception of Winston. While Newton and Luck were applauded for their record setting record performance, Winston was thought to be garbage stats not only the national media but also a segment of this fan base.

I believe this team now knows they're a good football team. The Bolts are just the next team to out execute.

This feels different.

The team is saying all the right things and appears to be backing it up on the field. That said, this will be a tough game and a great test for our defence. If we can continue to play well on third down and establish the running game, we've got a chance. If we allow Rivers time, we'll get carved and the game will be put on Winston.

I think we all know how good this offense can be against any opponent. The problem is consistency. Usually we start slow and pick up the pace as the game progresses but as of late we have seen a bit of both. In order to win this game, the Bucs will need to have a steady attack on offense and show that the defensive play the past 3 weeks have not been a fluke. The Chiefs and Seahawks are both able to move the ball well, but neither are as effective on Offense than the Chargers.

SD is the 5th ranked passing offense due mostly to Phillip Rivers and his low to mid their talent stepping up big. Tampa Bay's defense is on the back end of the middle when it comes to Defensive stats as a whole. Despite a very strong showing the past 3 weeks TB is 11th worse in defending the run and dead middle in pass defense (16th). We are going to find out what this Defense is really made of this week.

Jameis and crew will have to take advantage of the 7th worst pass defense in order to keep up. San Diego is sporting the 6th best rushing defense right now so hopefully we can get things going on the ground with both Doug and Quiz ready to go. This has the makings to be a very good game.

Jameis Winston - 310 Passing. 22 Rushing. 3 TD's 1 Int
Doug Martin - 66 Rushing. 2 Rec 13 yards
Jacquizz Rodgers - 52 Rushing. 4 Rec 42 yards
Mike Evans - 7 Rec for 130 yards 1 TD
Cam Brate - 4 Rec for 49 yards 2 TD's
Aguayo - 2/3 FGs

Defense starts strong but falters late. Hold Chargers just long enough to win.

Bucs - 27
Chargers - 24

This is the type of game where we'll try to force the run too much (against a good run defense) and force Jameis into too many obvious passing downs. Hopefully Jameis can continue taking care of the ball.
