I just posted this on the Comparisons thread, but I said I just don't see an elite pass rusher. Good player, but reminds me of a mix between Ben Leber and Mike Vrabel.

I see some Wes Welker and Luke Kuechly in there. Laughing

How about some Ed McCaffrey, Drew Bennett, and Brian Finneran?

Are you crazy? Come on. Maybe a smidgen of Joe Jurevicius and Peyton Hillis.

My bad you're right how could I mix those up. I meant Tim Dwight and Wayne Chrebet

He'll go to the Patriots and he'll have a ring or two before his brother

My notes on Watts sez "coltish."

I think he has a lot of growing to do, and settle into a role, but the ingredients are all there.

Helps his draft stock to have that name. He's getting more looks than he would get otherwise.

I like him, though.

He's a project. At the moment he could be OK, but the upside is there to be good to great.

Great size, ideal frame, long arms, pretty athletic, hard worker, can add 10-20lbs, room for improvement etc.

Should go somewhere between pick 30 - 45.

Being serious, I hope DB gets more games up of Watt. I see a lot of potential there. With the Rams likely moving to more of a 3-4, I'd be very interested in him at the top of the 2nd.

My initial observations of him are very positive. I see a guy who has the tools to develop into a Pro Bowl caliber player. He has a NFL body with growth potential and long arms. He's not polished but not raw either. You can see the instincts, ability to find the ball, understanding of how to attack OTs, and a diverse set of pass rush moves in his game.

In terms of athleticism, it's all there. He has the speed to threaten the corner and chase plays down. He has the functional strength to set the edge, win with power as a pass rusher, and overwhelm smaller players.

I'm very high on him. I think he has Clay Matthews like potential.

T.J. Watt
6'4.5" 252 pounds
33.125" arms
11" hands
4.69 40
21 BP Reps
37" Vertical Jump
10'08" Broad Jump
4.13 Short Shuttle
6.79 Three Cone Drill

I really hope he makes it to the second. According to PFF, he was third in pass rush productivity amongst 3-4 OLBs with 56 pressures in 270 snaps.

It's about time more of y'all join me on his bandwagon. Laughing

Why exactly should he make it to second? Should only happen if his medical raises flags.

I like him a lot more than guys like McKinley, Williams, and Charlton, who for some reason are mocked well ahead of him. None of those guys look better athletically in terms of upside OR looked more disruptive on film. TJ is the 4th best edge after Garrett, Thomas, and Barnett.

He shouldn't, but it seems like a lot of people aren't that high on him.

Idk why hes one of my favorites

The term Twitchy gets thrown around alot, but this is the first time I can legit say it matches with a players Skillset. Watt is the definition of Twitchy. Great level of production, very skilled, better athlete then the guys he'll go up against, great motor, and is really just a good all out football player.
