Well obviously Garrett. Laughing

I moved Allen down a bit because I'm starting to play it safe more. He didn't show up in the title game and he has the shoulder issue. But I would be more than happy if we draft him.

I'm not a big fan of Taco Charlton unless we get him mid-2nd (trade back) or 3rd round. Watching him more closely, he gets thrown around in the run game...

Some players we are rumored to have met with or scouted the last few days:

Cory Clement, R, Wisconsin
Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech
Clemson TE (blanking on his name)
Zane Gonzalez (everyone's favorite kicker)- we privately met with him

Why do I get the feeling we are going to draft a TE high?

I think we'll take a RB before we take a TE...

Bengals.com just released mock has them taking Howard at 9. I would be pretty disappointed with that pick

How many years did we short change the te position? Now we draft them as often as corner backs.

Bengals met with Mixon

We tend to do our homework on these guys (ig. Dorial Green-Beckham, Josh Shaw).

We were 1 of 4 teams to meet with him prior to his pro day today. I am so torn on him. On 1 note, I really want a RB with his talent. On the other note, I want to move on from Jones and stay away from character guys like this. Not sure which way I will lean if we draft him.

Yeah; we're happy to have idiots like Mixon, Pacman & Burfict on the team, but let guys like Zeitler & Whitworth go. I suspect it might be a factor why Whit was OK leaving; he was tired of the idiots.

What Mixon did was inexcusable, but then again he was only 18 at the time, and hopefully he's grown up some. Its not as if its gonna reflect badly on The Bengals in the national press, our reputation is as low as it can go anyways.

Having a better squad of RB's might help our run game; taking some pressure off that young OL......

Dude, have a beer.......

thanks; I will.......

Whitworth has already come out and said he left for the money, that he wrestled with it, but that this is his last contract, so he wanted to cash in while he could. He sought the interview out, so it's not like he was trying to hide his true feelings on the matter.

All true, but with hindsight; I bet The Bengals now wish they'd've franchised Whitworth. I don't see how anyone could possibly be happy with Ogbuehi @ starting LT; we should've franchised Whit, and given Oggy another year learning from the big guy......

I disagree. We need to see whether Cedric can play this year. Whit was pissed we drafted two tackles without consulting with him first. He made bizarre comments after the team moved him to LG to give Ogbuehi a start once we were out of it. He just wanted out. It's his choice. I wish he would have stayed, but we can't complain that we never play young guys and then turn around and criticize when they do. In this particular case, I wish we had kept Whit, but at the same time, we have to make a long term decision on Cedric starting next offseason with 5th year options. Do you really feel comfortable giving the option to Dennard at this point? And if they don't use the option, how many fans will complain if he has a great year, then gets away (for, you know, a high comp pick).

I just look at Eifert in a contract year and injury history and the lack of development of Kroft. I can see it being a pick in the first 3 rounds. If we take Howard at 9, I will be pissed though.

Rather we take Jake Butt in the 4th. Let him sit a year and then we have our contingency plan...

With the exception of Greg Olson and Jason Witten, all the top TE's miss several games per year. It's just something you have to live with.

I'm sure if the team feels like Howard is worth pick 9, they'll take him and try to use him. But i don't think they'll take him because Eifert is in a contract year and he gets hurt.
