Anthony was below average with some flashes of potential here and there, as well as possibly the worst coverage LB ever seen.
Below average for a starter, sure. I don't think he looked below average for a rookie, not by any means. Especially considering theack of talent around him.

And Anthony isnt even close to the worst coverage backer ever seen. I think you're exaggerating there, quite a bit IMO. He's not good in coverage by any means, but we've rolled with guys much worse than him many times before.

Another thing we must understand is that Anthony was drafted to play in a hybrid 34 but since Allen has taken over we are slowly converting back to a 43 base alignment. Anthony was solid for a rookie considering what he had to work with and I give him the benefit of the doubt now that he's switching positions which is a bigger deal than many realize when you never played the Sam before because it is a different style of play.

Also... Anthony is still basically the starting SAM backer. Robertson has taken over at the Mike and has looked really good while Stupar plays the Will. The thing is that we play so much nickel, dime and 3 safety sets the Sam is barely on the field. Now when you consider that fact spending a 1st round pick (especially the one you got in return for Jimmy Graham) on a linebacker who barley sees the field EVEN IF HES PLAYING GOOD FOOTBALL is in terms EXTREMLY POOR VALUE for a team that had sooooooooooo many other needs on defense!!!

Despite what this staff says... in a draft where they NEEDED to hit on and help kickstart there defense rebuild they landed a average LG who they expected to be a right tackle, a average SAM linebacker whom they thought was a future Mike backer and leader of their defense and a Jack pass rusher with numerous injury concerns and is now recovering from yet another ACL tear while both Kikaha and Anthony appeared to be getting phased out of this defense but new D.C. Dennis Allen.

Reguardless how you feel about these players, the fact is that this staff (particularly Sean Payton) ALWAYS speaks of the vision they have for prospects they draft so what's perfectly clear is the fact that whom ever is determining these so called "VISIONS" MUST BE REMOVED FROM DEFISION MAKING WITHIN THIS FRANCHISE IMMEDIATELY!!!
