At the half-way point of the 2016-17 season, will the Broncos reach the playoffs?
I think the answer is 'yes'. I'd put the odds of over 95% of a playoff berth.

My current guess of how the AFC West teams end up:
Denver Broncos 12-4
Oakland Raiders 9-7
Kansas City Chiefs 8-8
San Diego Chargers 7-9

If the teams end up with those W-L records, 3 AFC-W teams might be in the playoffs.

If the season ended today, the Broncos would be the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/standings/_/view/playoff
    1. New England Patriots 7-1
    2. Denver Broncos 6-2
    3. Houston Texans 5-3
    4. Pittsburgh Steelers 4-3
    5. Oakland Raiders 6-2
    6. Kansas City Chiefs 5-2

Surprisingly, there are 3 AFC-West teams on the list. Let's see how this shakes out in another 2 months...

I don't see OAK going 3-5. Their defense is improving each week and Carr is showing himself to be not just one of the best young QB's in the game, but one of the best QB's in the game. I would honestly be shocked if any QB on our roster ends up nearly as good as him. He will be our new Rivers and drive Denver fans insane for 10+ years. Cant say enough good things about him, and the direction of that franchise. They are not to be underestimated.

I hope your prediction is correct but I think it's doubtful. Five of our last eight are on the road. Oakland is the opposite. KC has five of it's last nine at home.

I think all 3 of those teams at 10-6 or 11-5 is likely. I'd not be surprised if our final game of the season, home against the Raiders, decides the division.

Right now I can't see us sweeping both the Chiefs and Raiders, beating the Pats in Denver, and winning all three of our road games against the Saints, Titans and Jags. I think we win five of our final games at best.

I think 3 AFC West teams make it and I think KC has a very good chance at winning the division based on their schedule

I think chiefs schedule looks similar to ours without the home games. Being home or away isn't our problem because a defense travels with you everywhere. I think the raiders have the superior offense in the division, the broncos the superior defense, the chiefs are balanced at everything especially when they get Houston back. You par a very good defense with a ball control offense you're gonna be hard to beat.

Right now we are behind Oakland and Chiefs on the field even with an oustanding defense.
The defense put 2 redzones possession fot the offense in Chargers Game that result of ONLY ....3 pts.
Kubiak knows that Trevor Siemian is not the answer and lose patience with his play against SD.
We are too conservative to make big plays. The 3 long completion last weekend. 1st is Sanders magic catch not Simian , the 3rd by DT is almost an interception thanks for the battle Demaryus to pick a ball.
I am not against Trevor but his habilities are a 7th rounder for a good reason and now we need a boost and change at QB.
If Lynch is not ready try a journeyman like Austin Davis. He can throw everywhere on the field and boost a running game with his pass.
I prefer to see Lynch but Siemian's pass are easy for the defense.
I don't want to see another 3 and out 4 straight time

It's worth noting that Oakland has performed better on the road than at home thus far, so having more home games isn't necessarily a good thing for them. That being said, I think it's more likely than not that KC, Oak and Den all make it. I'd be lying if I said I was totally convinced Denver wins the division. They need to beat Oakland Sunday night before I take that leap.

After week 9, the Raiders (7-2) are in first place of the AFC-West.
In the race for the wild card, Chiefs (6-2) leads the Broncos (6-3).

For the AFC playoff, this converts to these seedings:
1. New England Patriots (leads AFC East)
2. Oakland Raiders (leads AFC West)
3. Houston Texans (leads AFC South)
4. Baltimore Ravens (leads AFC North)
5. Kansas City Chiefs
6. Denver Broncos

If they got rid of division winners, afc west could put all 4 teams in the playoffs.

Being a wildcard team doesn't really scare me this year as it has in past years. If Denver can draw Houston in the wild card round I think that's an easy w.

Than the raiders or chiefs in the divisional we'll have to see I'd rather draw the chiefs because the chiefs I feel reached their ceiling with Smith. So if this oline can come alive and Start playing better I think Denver can beat kc.

Denver really could have an inside track to the afc title game. And New England has some flaws Denver might still be in their head we'll have to see that matchup in 4 weeks.

Pretty tough to ask for more. Six games remaining, four against the only other teams in the AFC with 7 wins so far. Three of those games are in Denver.

We completely control our own destiny, not only for the playoffs but for AFC home field throughout. All we've got to do is win out. Wink

After week 11, the AFL West has the (surprise, surprise!) Raiders in first place.
Oakland Raiders 8-2
Kansas City Chiefs 7-3
Denver Broncos 7-3
San Diego Chargers 4-6

Race for playoff spots:
1. Oakland Raiders 8-2 (AFC West leader)
2. New England Patriots 8-2 (AFC East leader)
3. Houston Texans 6-4 (AFC South leader)
4. Baltimore Ravens 5-5 (AFC North leader)
5. Kansas City Chiefs 7-3 (tie breaker over Denver)
6. Denver Broncos 7-3
7. Miami Dolphins 6-4
8. Pittsburgh Steelers 5-5
9. Indianapolis Colts 5-5
10. Buffalo Bills 5-5

If the playoffs started this week, the Broncos would play the Texans (Hello Brock!) in a wild-card game...
