Former Titans OT Byron Bell visited the 49ers over the weekend, per source. Bell missed 2016 due to an ankle injury.

Don't really know anything about him. Given how bad the Titans offensive line was prior to last year, I can't imagine that he's all that great, but obviously, this would be a depth signing and we do need more bodies at the tackle position.

I think in Kyle's outside zone-blocking scheme, Bell is more of OG than OT. He's played both spots so I think that's also consideration as well. He could be a back-up at both tackle and guard.

Looks like Poe definitely won't be a chief. They are signing Bennie Logan.

Last I heard, Poe visited the Jags and will visit the Falcons

Not us, I hope. At this point with two veterans on the roster it's time to take a shot a rookie - early or late, I don't care. Just add a young guy and see what how well he can develop.
Geno Smith and probably Daniel are likely to be picked up by someone, and there's always Kap although it appears no one has any interest in him. In any case the more teams lock up their starters and backups the greater the chances of one of this year's QBs to fall to 34.

Honestly, I think that only two quarterbacks are going in round 1 unless some of the bad teams are trading back into the round. So I think that if our inclination is rookie quarterback at 34, one will be there. I don't think the Bears are going quarterback at 3 after signing Glennon; I do think that they'll draft one at some point, but I think that they are going to try and push to win now and take someone who immediately helps out. The previous rumor was that the Jets are unlikely to take a quarterback in the early rounds. I think Buffalo bypasses quarterback now that they have committed to Tyrod.

I could definitely see Arizona taking one. Carson is on his last leg, and they have to know that they are unlikely to do much this year with regards to playoffs. Then maybe a team like the Giants.

I kind of expect the Browns to take one at 12. If I remember right you're higher on Kizer than I am. So I hope they go for him, but I'd be happy with any of the top 3 at 34.

Could see this happening, if just to get that 5th yr option.

Actually I could see us doing this as well ... ah, if only we could trade back in the first.

It's all relative with regards to being higher on Kizer. I mean, I don't have first round grades on any of the quarterback, and Watson I moved into the second round, but Kizer and Trubisky I still like in the third. I just don't have an issue if we reach for one of them in the second because of the position, so I understand it.

Ah. I think Watson might have overtaken Trubisky for me too. Still not sure. I just know I'm not high on Kizer.

Seahawks just signed Eddie Lacy for 5.5 mil with 3 mil guaranteed making him a top 10 paid RB. And they still have a meeting with Jamaal Charles on Wednesday haha. Do you think they are aware that having more RBs than OL still won't help their running game? Or maybe they are going to keep feeding Lacy and play him at OG? Anyways, even though they are still meeting with Charles I think the likelihood of them signing him goes signicantly down for those of us who are still thinking he would be a great add to our offense if indeed healthy.

It would seem weird to me for him to sign there now. Prosise, Rawls, Lacy...if he wants to show that he is still capable of playing, I don't know why he would go there where there are clearly so many options that will slice into his time.

Come to the 49ers, Jamaal....we can give you a straight split with Hyde, and lets be honest, Hyde isn't playing 16 games, so you'll have opportunities to be the feature back in some games Laughing

We may have went to early with Mitchell. Hankins is still sitting out there unsigned. He would have been a nice get

Apparently Eddie Lacy weighed in at 267 for one of the teams he visited this off season Shocked

Last year he was listed at 234.

Neither is Charles. Unless they miss games while the other one is healthy, we'll need to add another solid option. I'd love Charles, though. Hyde, Charles and a mid-rounder.

While this is true, my grand plan is that they would be hurt and miss alternating weeks, so we would always have one of them available Wink

So, with that much cap space, do we extend some of our upcoming FAs, or are they all mostly crap?

Tramaine Brock?
Eric Reid?
Aaron Lynch?
Carlos Hyde?
Dontae Johnson?
Daniel Kilgore?
Keith Reaser and Tank Carradine?

According to the NFL Players Union:

Quote:
The 49ers still have a league-best $81.1 million in salary-cap space
