Yeah, that sucks.

Oh well.

How do you guys propose the Big 12 fixes its perception? Especially on defense?

Big 12 announces no divisions for 2017, but there will be a conference championship game between the top 2 teams.

1) Last year that would have meant a rematch of Bedlam a week after it happened. Yikes.

2) What happens in the event of a 2008 3 way tie? Would be a little crazy.

3) Potential for a 12-0 (9-0) team to lose to like a 9-3 (7-2) team in the Big 12 championship game. Would be quite the disaster.

4) Potential Red River rivalry championship game would be lit as hell.

This conference continues to achieve unforeseen levels of stupidity.

And have a repeat of the early 2000's championship game pitting an undefeated (or one loss) south team against a .500 north team? No thanks. They made the right decision by having the two best teams play for the conference title.

Plus, I can't help but feel that this wasn't partly to blame for Oklahoma and Oklahoma State wanting to be in the same division. You have four Texas teams, so you either take Oklahoma or West Virginia to balance that divisions.

At this point, I think the writing is on the wall. The Big XII is effectively dead, they'll salvage what they can until their GoR expire at which point I'd anticipate the conference will fall apart.

As a fan, what teams do you feel "have" to stay together (e.g. Texas and Oklahoma). If the Big 12 dies, I want Kansas in our conference.

Wonder if there will be a custody battle over the kids.

I'd still say that Oklahoma is tied to Oklahoma State. If you followed (and believed) the rumors, Oklahoma wasn't going to leave OSU-lite in the wind without them going. That was apparently one of the possible holdups of Oklahoma joining the SEC. And while I don't think Texas is necessarilly tied to Tech, I do think they'd prefer to go together. Texas is going to do what's best for them, but I don't think they'd hold themselves down in the long run. Nobody else in the conference really has any strong sway either way.

I don't think anyone has an idea of where anyone else is going 8 years from now.

I was at the Tech @ TCU game yesterday, and that was the best defensive performance we have had in years. For our offense to only put up 17 in regulation on the road and win is amazing. We need to win 2 of our last 4 to make a bowl which would save this disaster of a season.
