Solomon Thomas a 4.5 guy??? I'd expect him to be a 5.0 guy. Surprised he's only 270 also. He looks bigger.

I just finished a mock where I took Thomas #1 overall so that tweet makes me happy.

Couple days ago I'd been looking again at Thomas' tape vs Allen's tape and I came to the conclusion that I like Thomas better. The biggest difference is that Thomas has better intial quickness. They're both suitably strong to play inside. Thomas can lock out and shed. Allen has stronger hands but without the same quickness as Thomas it kind of nullfies it. Thomas is just faster and more fluid.

Solomon Thomas #1 overall? Idea

This is why Sashi needs to turn in the pick for Garrett right now.

I will admit Thomas has some Khalil Mack to his game, but he is not quite there. People are going to like him with the more tape they watch.

I see his ceiling being Jacksonville.

Some Khalil Mack to his game at 275lbs?....Sign me up.

IDK if this is like the draftnik thread or where else to put this, but Daniel Jermiah published a top 50, today. One of the best lists I've seen.

I just can't justify Malik Hooker going in the top 2-3 picks...

Aside from Earl Thomas, I can't really think of a "game-breaking" safety in the NFL. When I see a top 3 pick, I need someone that has a heavy impact on the game: QB, pass rusher, elite RB, etc. A freaking safety? Come on...

A big board isn't based on pick it's based on how talented that player is compared to the other players.

It is not an overrated statement when people say Hooker looks to be the next Ed Reed that's legit.

Jermiah just means based on pure better than every body else Hooker is number 2.

If he has an Ed Reed type career though I would say number 2 pick would be worth it.

Oh I know, I get all that... I'm just thinking about it from my Bears' perspective and if we took Hooker at 3 I'd probably throw my beer through my television.

Landon Collins, too. Although a different type of safety. And Harrison Smith. And the honey badger, if he counts as a safety. But yea, if you think you are getting the next Ed Reed, then it's never too high to take the guy.

The only hesitation I'd have is getting to find out how serious an issue his wanting to quit football/the team. Guys like Ed Reed and Eric Berry, they really really love football and become great in the film room. Can't imagine them wanting to quit the game in college, or having any problems becoming leaders in any locker room. That was obvious even in college.

Physically and on film, I have no problem with Malik being 2nd to Garret.

Elite safety prospects belong in the top 5. I think Hooker and Adams belong in that discussion. They may not end up top 5 picks, but I'd be shocked if either were available for my Brownies at pick #12. And keep in mind this is a good draft.

Hooker's interception of Watson in the end zone was a play I think only Earl Thomas can make. Literally 2 safeties on the planet can make that play from the distance he was away.
