I'm personally glad he refused to get up. The idea that companies should be able to boot a passenger to meet their needs is absurd. IMO once you pay for that seat, it's your seat. If the airline wants it back they have to buy it back at whatever the going rate is.

If no one dug their heels in, nothing would ever change. Thanks to this guy, no one else will have to worry about this happening again.

These airlines and their shady business practices get zero sympathy from me.

What other service industry is this acceptable?

Yea.....what is the going rate???

I do agree that because of how absurdly inept United was in rectifying the situation, that others will not have to ever go through something like this.

What's the going rate? Who knows? Keep adding 100 bucks to your offer until people accept it. Then everyone will be compensated to their satisfaction.

We just dropped a bomb worse than the atom bombs we used on Japan.

Jesus.

No, the bomb we dropped, the MOAB (great city btw) is the largest NON NUCLEAR bomb we've ever dropped.

It's not comparable to a nuke.

I'm reading the megatons in the MOAB are greater. It's probably incorrect.

This is what someone way smarter than me said.

Someone Way Smarter Than Me wrote:
The nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II had explosive yields of about 15 to 20 kilotons, equal to that of 15,000 to 20,000 tons of TNT. Lowther says the MOAB doesn't even represent a fraction of the destructive power of the US's weakest nuclear weapon.

As the MOAB is a conventional weapon, it also doesn't generate the heat or lasting radiation that nuclear explosions do.

Ehhh.....

He tries to hard. He kind of just spouts what sounds good in his head, but doesn't sound nuanced wants it actually comes out his mouth.

The lawyer commented on United Airlines-

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vLphv5G1HPE

Basically they're boned:

Quote:
Demetrio, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Chicago-Kent College of Law, is no stranger to battling Goliath defendants in the courtroom.

In 2012, he won a $1 billion settlement against the NFL and NHL by players and their families in a concussion class action initiated by the family of late Chicago Bears player Dave Duerson, according to the Chicago Tribune.

And he represented victims of a scaffolding accident at the John Hancock Building in Chicago, where each of the ten victims got $75 million in the settlement in 2006.

I played in a charity (Childrens miracle network) flag football game today and logged a series at QB. I've played a lot of QB but my accuracy was pinpoint (better than it has ever been) and I still move pretty well for a 40 something year old. I was never a great thrower but my legs created open receivers so it worked, kinda like RGIII's rookie season. The coach said he wanted me to be QB next year. I was planning on making this my retirement game but that threw a wrench into my plans.

All in all it was fun, I made a really nice catch that I had to completely change direction for and when I turned back around it landed right in my hands as time expired at the end of the game, I ran about 20 more yards and took a knee at the 2 yard line because we were already winning 42-14.

That was after we gave them a couple of our players at halftime in an attempt to make it more competitive.

anyone that's going to be attending the draft party at Muni Lot on the 27th hit me up. I'm coming up from the CBUS area with a few friends and staying downtown for the evening. We plan on getting to town as early in the afternoon as we can and getting down by the lot so we can secure a parking spot and let the festivities begin. We are gonna hit up the HOF on the way home Friday before watching rounds 2-3 back at home.
