Hope that means we can get him in the third. He's perfect for our scheme.

Meh. There's plenty of better corner prospects.

I'm not trying to White knight for Jrry or anything, but you don't have character issues for being arrested for domestic violence. You have character issues if you are guilty of domestic violence.

Accusations are made. Charges are dropped. People are found innocent. Etc etc.

I am sure Jrry just means he hopes the concern regarding the arrest drops him to a later round, not making any assumptions of guilt or innocence.

Yes, I think that's pretty clear. Plus, I had read the media's account of the arrest. It doesn't sound like much.

Lewis is much more than a nickel CB. Hell, he's an inch taller than Broncos stud, Chris Harris Jr.

Lewis being able to move into the slot only makes his skill-set more valuable. Cover skills are cover skills.

Hell, if Joyner moves to safety, there's a strong argument that we don't have a single effective CB (nickel or otherwise) outside of Trumaine Johnson. E.J. Gaines is a total question mark and was always more effective playing outside.

Read up on the incident. Doesn't sound like much to me. Kid has a squeaky clean past. If it pushes him down the draft board, I'll take the chance.

I've never been one to shy away from character issues, but there's always a line. Lewis hasn't passed it yet.

Anyways, I had an interesting thought on our Center problem. Forrest Lamp will likely be off the board by the second round. I was taking a look at the Packers' philosophy on the OL and noticed a guy who fits it (college LT + quality numbers in the agility drills). Dion Dawkins might be an option for us at C.

Kromer likes his OLs to be big and strong guys who can generate movement in the run game. Dawkins certainly fits that description. On top of that, he's an experienced LT who has the movement skills to stay outside in the NFL with the strength to move inside. That makes him a potentially highly effective player. To cap all of that off, Dawkins recently said that he's training at Center to make himself more valuable to NFL teams.

In McVay's scheme, the Center doesn't call protections. Thus, putting a rookie like Dawkins in there wouldn't be as problematic as it is in another scheme. It seems like an intriguing option considering Dawkins's talent, our need, and our OL Coach.

If we went that route Id much rather go with Taylor Moton. While hes not a LT, I think hes a much better player in every aspect.
