Michael Lombardi on the state of the Rams:

"I think the Rams are comical, they really are. I think the Rams are hopeless."

Ouch.

That, Woods, and how we've treated the Trumaine Johnson situation.

According to Troy Renck of Denver7 (ABC affiliate), Kayvon Webster is going to be visiting us this weekend. Has familiarity with Wade and the system, but has been trapped behind Talib, Roby, and Harris in Denver. Evidently he's also drawn interest from Philly and Miami.

Would be a good pickup in my estimation, whether we decide to the turn and trade Tru or whatever. At least we'd have one CB on the roster (though I do like Mike Jordan's fit as well) who is a good fit for the scheme.

his wiki page says he's already a member of the team

Yeah, nothing yet. I checked with some of the limited media contacts I do have that respond quickly. "Significant interest" on our part. And he's supposed to visit starting tomorrow. Could just be a matter of time. I always like being hte one to have the guy in the building at least; how about we just make sure Wade is in the building too?

I can see why we'd have significant interest though. He's a guy who his teammates all believe has earned a shot at a starting spot somewhere, but he's also Denver's ST captain and a dynamite ST'er - which you know Fassel will love.

Webster would be a great signing and seems like a natural fit. Haven't read that he's been anywhere but Denver this week either.

Agreed.

Just fitting that the Rams get the worst 8mil receiver available.

At some point, y'all need to ask yourself why Pryor signed for so little. He has one year of production in a scheme that forced him the ball, he is known for having attitude and work habit issues, and he was in a free agency where players are getting money thrown at them left and right.

Ask yourselves...why did Terrelle Pryor get so little money (comparatively)? I think the answer is pretty clear. Teams don't trust him.

Read McVay's comments on Robert Woods. It's clear what he wants in his WRs. I've said this a million times. Good teams have an identity. They go after players who fit that identity. It's how the Patriots are so good at getting production out of cheap WRs with a specific skill-set.

McVay knows what he wants. His comments allude to what he wants. Pryor doesn't really fit that mold. There's no reason to throw money at guys whom you don't believe fit your identity (whether that's on the field or off of it). That's how you end up with a Jeff Fisher offense with no identity and a bunch of mismatched parts.

What's more comical than the Rams? Michael Lombardi's career as a NFL GM. Did he even last a year with the Browns? Who cares what that hack thinks.

He was their GM in what? 2013? So 3 years ago... and there's not a single player left on that team from the class that he drafted.

Lombardi managed to make himself a career off the back of Al Davis (back when Al Davis actually still had all his marbles and had been versed on team-building by Ron Wolf) and later Bill Belichick - neither of which are all that well known for relinquishing the decision-making.

Lombardi talking smack on a team on only a slight step above Ryan Grigson talking smack on a team; that slight step being that Lombardi managed to con Grigson into shelling over a 1st round pick for Trent Richardson.

Gotta feel for the kid, he went from a 1st rounder to somebody who gets taken in the 6th or 7th and shelved until healthy. Cost him millions.
